Escape to the seaside! Mill Meadows is a beautifully designed, family friendly development of 300 new homes on the edge of the coastal town of Filey.
Whether you’re just starting out with your own place, moving up the property ladder or downsizing, Mill Meadows will have a two, three, four or five-bedroom home that’s ideal for you and your loved ones. There are 39 elegant styles to choose from, and the overall site design is inspired by Georgian and Victorian planning to honour Filey’s genteel past.

With 180 new properties for sale and 60 available for shared ownership, you have several affordable options for securing your perfect home.
Living in this great location on the edge of Filey, close to the sea and surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, you can pretend you’re on holiday all year round.

As a not-for-profit housing association, Coast & Country has a mission statement: to “provide homes that people choose to live in.” The development at Mill Meadows upholds this standard. While there is a strong demand for affordable housing in
Filey (Mill Meadows will increase local housing stock by 5%), they want to do more than simply add houses to the town.

They’re passionate that Mill Meadows should become an integral part of Filey’s community and be a desirable place for families and couples to live.
Even at the construction stage, they’re working hard to ensure the area reaps the benefits of their investment, engaging with Scarborough Job Match, Yorkshire Coast
College and nearby schools to open up jobs and apprenticeship opportunities for local people. They’re also talking to businesses about ways they can help boost Filey’s
economy, and sponsoring local charity ventures.

The life of Filey

The coastal town of Filey sits between Scarborough and Bridlington in East Yorkshire. It started life as a fishing village but in the 18th century its wide, sandy beach became attractive to pleasure-seekers keen for a quieter alternative to Scarborough. For a hundred years the Royal Crescent in Filey (then known just as the Crescent) was the most fashionable address in northern England.

Whether you’re raising children or retiring, Filey is a wonderful place for breathing in the fresh Yorkshire air and making the most of life. Nestled at the northern end of the
Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail, the town has beautiful bay views and a wealth of things to do. It’s well connected thanks to it’s railway station on he Yorkshire Coast Line, with direct trains to York. The historical seaside town of Whitby is a short drive north.

Mill Meadows is conveniently located on Muston Road, just south of the centre of Filey and all its amenities (and directly across from Filey School).

Did you know... the name Filey comes from ‘five leys’, with ley meaning meadow?
