Costa del Sol property in tourism boost?

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009
Malaga is likely to be one of this year’s holiday hotspots, it has been suggested, something that could bolster the Costa del Sol property scene.

The managing editor at airport hotels and parking firm Holiday Extras Mike Whiting said that Spain is the "top destination" for Britons this spring, noting that "Malaga is a big player" within the national market.

Such a comment may indicated that the Malaga area is a good one for Costa del Sol property seekers interested in holiday rental homes to consider.

Malaga is not the only city in the Costa del Sol to have been hailed recently as a good news story.

Marbella was recently described by James Gonzalez of Obelisk Investment Property as a place that is "fast regaining its status as a world class tourist spot and second home destination", Off Plan Property Exchange reported.

Costa del Sol positive vibes hailed

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009
The city of Marbella has a positive mood about it as a place for tourism, a property expert has commented.

James Gonzalez of Obelisk Investment Property was quoted by Off Plan Property Exchange as saying of the location: "Marbella is fast regaining its status as a world class tourist spot and second home destination and there’s definitely an air of optimism in the city."

Obelisk has noted that developers in the area have been discounting property prices and that the city will gain exposure in June when it hosts a Davis Cup tie between Spain and Germany.

Those keen on investing in Costa del Sol property may be enticed to Marbella by such factors.

Earlier this month authorities in Andalucia announced that 25 boats will be used in a major clean-up operation to enhance the water quality of the sea around the region, Typically Spanish reported.

Such a move may help boost Costa del Sol property close to the shoreline.

Costa del Sol property seekers can look forward to clean-up

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009
A major clean-up of the waters around the Costa del Sol has been announced, which may be good news for those seeking Costa del Sol property.

Luciano Alonso, the regional councillor for tourism in Andalucia, has revealed that 25 boats will be involved in a three-year project that will concentrate on dispersing pollution such as surface foam, Typically Spanish reports.

The project will cost €5.8 million (£5.26 million) and will see the west of the region being allocated 12 boats, with Axarquia using 11 vessels and Malaga the other four.

Such work could be good news for those buying Costa del Sol property, as it will make their own use of the coastal waters more pleasant and may boost the prospects for tourist rental.

Those having golf holidays on the Costa del Sol can enjoy a wide range of activities away from the course, travelgolf.com has noted.

It listed trips to the historic city of Ronda with its Roman Puente Nuevo bridge, Marbella’s old town and the Pablo Picasso Museum in Malaga among the other highlights of the region.

New property price index to be launched in Spain

Friday, September 26th, 2008
A new index of property prices is to be launched in Spain, it has been announced.

In Spain, property prices have been falling of late but the accuracy of figures has been questioned, leading to the decision to introduce a new quarterly index to complement the existing housing ministry figures, reports Reuters.

Run by Spain’s Statistics Institute, the new index could be published on a monthly basis along with European Union–harmonised inflation figures, the body said.

While this decision is in response to concerns that the fall in prices is not being recorded accurately enough, for investors in Costa Blanca property or Costa del Sol property the provision of more reliable figures may also help those looking for hotspots and also emerging trends of recovery when the markets move into their next phase.

Those investing in the Costa del Sol property can presently take advantage of a wide range of choice due to the present surplus, spanishhotproperties.com has stated.
