The city of Marbella has a positive mood about it as a place for tourism, a property expert has commented.

James Gonzalez of Obelisk Investment Property was quoted by Off Plan Property Exchange as saying of the location: "Marbella is fast regaining its status as a world class tourist spot and second home destination and there’s definitely an air of optimism in the city."

Obelisk has noted that developers in the area have been discounting property prices and that the city will gain exposure in June when it hosts a Davis Cup tie between Spain and Germany.

Those keen on investing in Costa del Sol property may be enticed to Marbella by such factors.

Earlier this month authorities in Andalucia announced that 25 boats will be used in a major clean-up operation to enhance the water quality of the sea around the region, Typically Spanish reported.

New property price index to be launched in Spain

A new index of property prices is to be launched in Spain, it has been announced.
