Music to the ears for Morocco property buyers

Friday, April 24th, 2009
Music fans in Morocco could be in for a treat when the L’Boulevard festival takes place in Casablanca at the end of May.

Held from the 28th to the 31st of the month, the event features urban music such as rock metal, hiphop and fusion, offering a variation from the norm for Morocco property buyers and other visitors as an international cast of bands rolls into town.

The city of Casablanca itself provides an interesting contrast to the event, with its historic architecture and north African culture.

At the same time, there are modernisation projects taking place that may be of interest to Morocco property buyers.

These include the news that a high-speed rail link is being built between Casablanca and Tangier, Magharebia reported earlier this month.

Over eight million passengers per year are expected to be using the new service by 2016, with travel times between the two cities being cut from five hours to two.

Morocco property in late deals boost?

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009
A new website highlighting late deals in Morocco has been launched by tourism chiefs in the North African country.

Moroccothereapy.com has been established to help the country ensure that it does not suffer too much of a downturn in tourist numbers in the recession by focusing on the current trend for holidaymakers to book later, the Times reports.

Deputy director of the UK office of the Moroccan tourist board Aziz Mnii commented: "We want to put Morocco upfront of people thinking of which destination to visit."

Investors in Morocco property for tourist rental purposes may look to capitalise on the initiative by making their lets available at short notice.

Last month senior partner with the International Law Partnership John Howell told the Press and Journal the "ten-year infrastructure improvement plan with a view to boosting tourism" being instigated by the Moroccan government represents a good reason for investing in Morocco property.

Morocco property could be wise investment, expert claims

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009
Morocco property could be a shrewd investment for UK buyers seeking to purchase a place in the sun, it has been suggested.

According to John Howell, a senior partner with the International Law Partnership, there are a number of reasons why Morocco property is an attractive option, the Press and Journal reports.

Firstly, the country boasts good weather all year round, he stated.

Furthermore, Morocco is not much further than Spain from the UK and the national language is French, Mr Howell noted.

"Additionally, Morocco has a government that has committed itself to a ten-year infrastructure improvement plan with a view to boosting tourism," he told the paper.

Mr Howell warned that wherever investors decide to purchase their foreign property, they should they choose a suitable property at the right price.

Recently, Essaouira in Morocco was highlighted by the Guardian as a good holiday destination due to its reasonable prices and the opportunity to enjoy some surfing there.

Morocco a “buzzing” investment location

Friday, September 5th, 2008
African real estate prospects in countries such as Morocco property have been "buzzing" for some time, it has been stated.

These markets are much more positive than many suggest, with too much of the news about Africa concentrated on countries were there are crises such as Somalia and Zimbabwe, Nuwireinvestor.com has stated.

Most, however, have been experiencing positive economic trends based on a variety of activities, with those lacking large-scale mineral and oil resources offering new service industry opportunities for outsourcing.

Last month Morocco was promoted to the Homes Overseas "Premier League" of elite destinations in which to invest in foreign property.

The magazine said a major reason for the inclusion of the north African country is the plans the king has announced to enhance the tourism facilities and infrastructure so much that the country’s tourist numbers will soar from 2.2 million to ten million by 2010.
