Why Noosa?

Looking for property in Australia then look no further than how the Aussies do it; Noosa Shire is the prestigious location where Australians strive to live. Should it be retirement from the hustle and bustle of the large soaring cities such as Sydney and Melbourne, this prestige pocket of tropical Queensland may just be Nirvana itself. Looking for that “sea” or “tree change”? Encapsulated by the clear blue of the Coral Sea flowing to the Pacific Ocean, and the lush rainforests and bush of the National Parks and Noosa Hinterland, Noosa is everything to all. Smoothly cut by the Noosa River winding inland through the lakes up to the Everglades, this soon to be “World Heritage Listed” part of Noosa, is not due to its historic cathedrals and medieval castles Europeans may associate with this kind of listing, but quite simply the opposite. With the exception of the Gubbi Gubbi people (the aboriginal tribe of the area) hunting and gathering in their ancient traditions, this land is simply untouched since its creation.

Your choice may be to live on one of the islands of Noosa Sound or the calm canals of Noosa Waters with their stunning architectural homes in prime waterfront positions, moor the boat to your private jetty or simply throw off a line to catch dinner. Maybe the cool breeze filled streets, high on Noosa Hill with its close proximity to the famous Hastings Street and Main Beach, capturing views over Laguna Bay are more to your liking, conveniently placed adjacent to the services of Noosa Junction. Tewantin, the home of Noosa Harbour has its quaint old colonial charm. Stroll from home to the cafes and restaurants on the boardwalks, sit and enjoy a cool drink as you watch the ferries return from their cruise up the everglades as the sun comes down on another lazy day. You may like to be a part of the action, so why not jump on the passenger ferry down the river to the cosmopolitan strip of Gympie Terrace in the heart of Noosaville. End a perfect evening in one of the many restaurants specializing in world cuisine with a slow walk along the river, or do it like the locals and have a barbie in the park. You may like to live here too, and have this stunning backdrop as your back yard? But we are not finished yet!

For beach bums and surfies to be, you have to be drawn to the beach suburbs of the beautiful Queensland coast. We will start with Peregian Beach, a village spread along the Coral Sea for perfect family living by the ocean, or Peregian Springs a master built community entwined within the championship golf course just minutes from the sand. Surf along a little to Marcus Beach and Castaways Beach, small pockets of homes sandwiched between the soft sands and the lush green rainforest of the National Park. Most come complete with sand in the garden, and the crashing sound of the surf as you laze on the deck. Sunrise Beach is the next on your list with its suburban streets and manicured gardens, lending itself to effortless family living. But be warned, this suburb is hot on the heels of its prestigious neighbour, Sunshine Beach, an exclusive little enclave tucked in beside the national park with its nature walks in the bush and dramatic cliff tops overlooking Devils Kitchen and Hells Gate, and around to Dolphin Point to be amazed by these wonderful creatures frolicking in the swell with the surfers, all eager to catch a wave. Yes, there are Dolphins in Dolphin Point, as well as the migrating whales making their way home. It is not just the chic deli’s and bars where the locals hang out that attract the residents to Sunshine, but the slow relaxed pace of life they copy from the koala that may just snooze the day away in the gum tree at the bottom of your garden. Fear not, if you still need life a little quieter than even this, cross the river by ferry and go home to North Shore, where the only way to your front door is by 4-wheel drive along the beach itself, total tranquility.

Calm country living could also be yours for the taking; well, maybe you will have to share with a possum or a kangaroo or two. Live at the lake, as it was in the early days of the settlement in Boreen Point, with its tranquil calm existence. Winding its way up the Noosa valley to sit majestically on top, overlooking all that I have mentioned, is the Golden Triangle of Doonan. Magnificent mansions and traditional colonial buildings intermingle, as if the master plan was written in the beginning to be just as it is. The world famous market town of Eumundi is just a boomerang throw away, where you can stand in the main street in awe of the history before you, and step aside, as twice a week the tourists gather their Australiana in the formidable markets that take over the town.

So whatever you seek for that dream lifestyle change from the UK, Noosa has a little something for each, and an awful lot for everyone! Come and join us, it’s easier than you think!
