Location
The picturesque village of Tattenhall offers rural living within a friendly and vibrant community and is just 8 miles from Chester, the best-preserved walled city in England. Founded as a Roman fort in AD 79 and known as Deva, the city was one of three major Roman army bases in the UK.

You'll find stores galore, all set against a background of unique treasures of antiquity and a vibrant café culture where outdoor dining and people-watching is a legitimate pastime.

History
The name Tattenhall is believed to have originated from the old English name Tata and 'halh' meaning 'meadow' or 'lea'; an open piece of grassland or field. This is apt, considering the village enjoys expansive views over open countryside all the way to the majestic vista of the Welsh mountains.
Gifford Lea isn't full of history like some of our other villages. Instead, it has the countryside; a landscape that's almost as old as time itself.

Our apartments can be fully tailored to assisted living requirements by taking our hospitality packages and support as part of our offering. Services include one meal a day, domestic cleaning, and laundry service. These packages also include the service charge, so you do not have to worry about such day-to-day matters as external maintenance, gardening, property insurance or window cleaning. Should you require personal care or assistance with bathing, dressing, medication and nutrition for example, the village wellbeing navigator will introduce you to the care team to enable a responsive quality service tailored to your individual requirements.

Our apartments in our retirement village are located close to the broad range of social and leisure facilities within the village, including a restaurant, licensed bar and lounge area.
Each of the one or two-bedroom retirement properties vary in layout and size, and are finished to a very high standard.
The apartments are designed to suit residents requiring extra services and support by combining elegance and comfort with features that help to maximise independence.
The kitchens and bathrooms are fitted with modern, stylish equipment designed to help make life easier and more rewarding. These include easy-turn taps, easy-open windows, level-access showers and power sockets positioned at a convenient height. In addition, every apartment is linked to a 24-hour emergency call system.
The nearby communal facilities have been furnished to a very high standard and are designed to offer our residents a warm and inviting ambiance with a homely feel.
Our hospitality package includes one cooked three-course meal per day (lunch or dinner) which we can deliver to your home, or you can enjoy in the comfort of the village restaurant. The village minibus is also available for planned shopping trips and excursions.
