The area is well serviced with schools, being within the catchment for North Hinksey Church of England Primary School and the extremely popular Matthew Arnold Secondary School. It is well placed for access to the private schools of both the city of Oxford and also Abingdon upon Thames. Oxford railway station is around one and a half miles away and provides a mainline rail link into London Paddington in approximately one hour. There is also a regular bus service to and from the city from Cumnor Hill.
