Rottingdean is a picturesque historic village, found just off the south coast road, located on the outskirts of Brighton. Originally a smugglers village, and then after the war mainly a retirement village, Rottingdean is now a mixture of old and young age groups and families, with two local primary schools in the area, and Longhill Secondary School found close by, off Falmer Road, in Ovingdean. There is a selection of local village shops and tea rooms, as well as five local pubs and inns, on the High Street all leading down to the beachfront, where there is a picturesque undercliff walk along the coast. Brightons famous Marina is also close by and offers a variety of shops, bars, restaurants, along with a casino, bowling alley, cinema, David Lloyd leisure complex, and a further pleasant undercliff walk along the coast. Bus routes are found on the Coast Road and Falmer Road, providing easy access in Brighton city centre. Brightons Mainline Railway Station, (Brighton -- Victoria approximately 55 mins), is approximately 4 miles away
