Galmpton is a lovely village between Paignton and Brixham with a beautiful area known as Greenway where you can either walk along the well maintained footpaths with stunning views or take one of the many joyful ferry rides along the river Dart. It has a large area of common grassland on its perimeter which most visitors see when they first approach the village. The village is home to The Creek which is a small bay on a bend in the River Dart known as Dittisham Lake. It has a small beach perfect for launching a small river craft, fishing, watching wildlife or sight seeing. Galmpton has a great shop full of local fresh produce, along with the village hall, pub and church. Every year Galmpton hosts the "Gooseberry Pie-Fair" which is run as an afternoon of fun for the village with lots of stalls raising money for charity.
