Down Ampney is a good sized village on the Gloucestershire/Wiltshire border, about 4 miles South-East of Cirencester and benefits from easy access on to the much improved A419 which links the M4 at Swindon with the M5 at Gloucester. The village hall has an active social calendar hosting many clubs and a village bar. Swindon which lies about 8 miles to the South-East offers a comprehensive range of shopping and recreational facilities and has a railway station which connects with London (Paddington) in just under an hour.
