The higher slopes of the Madonie, where the terrain becomes dramatic and mountainous, begin about three or four kilometers to the east, with the region's highest point 10km from the property.
The nearby town of Collesano is famous for its artisanal ceramic industry and as the home of the legendary Targa Florio motor race. While the overwhelming impression of this charming market town, far from the tourist trail, is a traditional and unmistakably Sicilian community, a small but active group of expats from France, the UK, Germany and the USA have formed a welcoming and active society.
