Ref. Casa Sofia - Casa Sofia is located in the municipality of Reitano in the province of Messina.

It is a country house currently in an unfinished state and therefore not available for occupation. The property is surrounded by greenery and has a beautiful view of the sea and the Aeolian Islands. The property can be reached by a well-maintained state road that leads from the Santo Stefano di Camastra motorway exit to the Mistretta hills in a few minutes. Driving along this road between the hills, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the sea, the landscape is truly breathtaking.

The property is located at an altitude of about 600 metres. It therefore enjoys a cool, breezy climate, which is particularly pleasant in the spring and summer months. Altogether, it is several plots belonging together, which are also partly separated by a path. There is another ruin on the property further down the valley. It is partly quite steep there.

The house is less than 3 km from the municipality of Mistretta and a little more than 5 km from the municipality of Reitano. Although the house is surrounded by greenery and tranquillity, it is only a few minutes by car from the main shops where you can find groceries, shops, restaurants and bars. The sea can be reached in less than 15 minutes by car, while beautiful Palermo is just over 100 km away. Falcone Borsellino International Airport can be reached in just over 1 hour.

The house

The property consists of two plots and two buildings in need of renovation. The first plot is situated at the top of the valley and enjoys a heavenly view. The space in front of the house seems to float in emptiness, immersed in nature.
Peace and quiet prevail here.

The property consists of two large rooms with a total area of about 80 square metres, both of which have French doors overlooking the space in front of the house.
The first room has a fireplace and can be used as a living room with an open kitchen. The second large room can be used as a bedroom. The bathroom has separate access from the two rooms and is located on the right side of the main building.

It is obvious that the property is in need of complete renovation, so the possibilities for designing the space can be considerable.
Although the property has been vacant for many years, there is no damp penetration or subsidence. The roof is still in good condition and the façade with its exposed stone still has its original charm.

The plot adjacent to the main building is about 13000 square metres. Most of it is sloping and only part of it is wooded. At the bottom of the valley is the second property, which consists of a single room of about 50 metres. The room was used as a wine production room in the past.Obviously, this room is also in need of complete renovation.
