Freehold
Description
Good schools really locally include Edmund Waller (3-11) and Haberdashers' (3-18).
You're also really close to Nunhead's high street, central green and station - walk six minutes. Queens Road Peckham, Brockley and New Cross Gate stations are also close (10-15 minutes). Parking is unrestricted on the street.
In your porched front door and two independent formal receptions rest to your left. These are over 13 feet by over 12 feet, and over 11 feet by over 10 feet. Double doors open from the second reception to the side-return area of the garden. Both rooms have stripped boards underfoot and white walls.
At the foot of the hall is access to your useful basement. Then the door to a large kitchen/diner which runs over 20 feet and boasts a second bay window. Beyond the fitted kitchen area is a utility space, handy downstairs shower room, and two doors out to the impressively-sized (and laid to lawn) garden.
The first floor delivers three large double bedrooms and the main (windowed) bathroom - which has a simple white suite. You can access loft space via a hatch on the landing.
Telegraph Hill is a corker of a community to call home. Once home to Victorian poet Robert Browning, this highly-desirable hillside neighbourhood with London skyline views and wide streets was developed in the late C19th, replacing market gardens - owned by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers (who controlled the development) - with high-standard housing. As well as the attractive architecture and fancy street lamps, what stands here now is a lovely and leafy community, with good connections to central London, alongside good schools and parks.
Telegraph Hill's Victorian Parks (Upper and Lower) are delightful, as is The Hill Station community cafe. There's a weekly Saturday market held in the Lower Park, or nip down to Brockley Market (held on Saturdays in the Lewisham College Car Park).
Your closest stations give you the Overground, Southern, Southeastern and Thameslink services. That's central journeys covered.
The village-like feel of Nunhead Green is just a short stroll away with its butcher, fishmonger, baker, coffee shop, wine shop and deli, as well as pubs and restaurants. Our favourite for a treat is Kudu Grill. Your most local pub is a great one: Skehans. The Earl of Derby is a great spot too.
Beer Rebellion, Blackbird Bakery and Kudu restaurant and sister wine bar by Queens Road Peckham Station also impress and are a short walk. Peckham Bazaar is a little further but easily-walkable, and Browns is a perfect stop for a coffee as is Parlez for brunch - if heading Brockley way.
The centres of Peckham, New Cross, Deptford and East Dulwich are also close for more options.
Council TaxA payment made to your local authority in order to pay for local services like schools, libraries, and refuse collection. The amount you pay depends on the value of the property.Read more about council tax in our glossary page.
