The property itself whilst having neighbours, its unusual but charming position makes it quite secluded.
This is down to 2 major factors.
1. The clever way the original architects designed Altham Grove.
2. The property has a 'wrap around' garden of 540 sq m. (5,812 sd ft).
To say that this property is unique and unusual is an understatement.
We do have to deal with the 'Elephant In The Room' first though.
There is no parking directly outside the property because, It is only accessible via a front gate in the corner of a pedestrian square of properties. So if you need a drive or need to be parked directly outside your property THIS PROPERTY IS NOT FOR YOU!
However, there is an adjacent garage which the new owners can continue to rent that also allows for a second car to be parked there.
The current owners have lived there for 10 years and raised their family there with absolutely no issues whatsoever!
Now we have the parking issue out of the way, we can get on with telling you about this amazing house!
It is a large 4 double bedroom detached property with a super large garden. One side of the garden backs onto Burnt Mill Academy (Ofsted rates Outstanding), and one side backs onto the fabulous Harlow Town Park.
You enter vis the front door and are greeted by a decent size hallway that allows access to The Kitchen, The Lounge, The Dining Room, The Utility Room, The Downstairs Cloakroom, and the stairs.
The Kitchen is immediately on your right and is in splendid condition (as is the entire property).
Fully fitted with a full size range style oven. It has three compartment electric oven, and a 5 ring gas hob. There are integrated white goods including a fridge, a freezer and a washing machine. Whilst it does not have a dishwasher, it would be simple to replace the washing machine with a dishwasher and move the washing machine to the Utility Room.
There are an abundance of cupboards and drawers, and beautiful work surfaces. There is a modern stainless steel sink and drainer with lovely garden views out of a large window. It is a super kitchen!
Opposite the kitchen is the utility room.
The Utility Room has spaces for washing machine & tumble dryer. There is plenty of cupboard and drawer space and the combi boiler lives in here as well.
There is a door that leads outside into a covered garden area where there are three decent size storage cupboards.
Next to the utility room is this downstairs cloakroom.
The Downstairs Cloakroom has been cleverly redesigned by the current owners. There is a super WC with a hand basin that sits where you would normally find the cistern. There clever space saving piece of kit makes all the difference to this narrow cloakroom! Clever!!
The Lounge is a really good size and has fabulous double patio doors leading out into the garden. The doors are surrounded by glass panels to each side and another on top of the doors. This superbly designed piece of glazing lights up the entire lounge brilliantly. The lounge also benefits from a high grade engineered walnut flooring that will last forever if required!
The same wonderful flooring is also laid in The Dining Room.
This dining area (currently used as an office) is keeping with the current fashion of separate lounge and dining areas. There is a large window for lots of natural light. It is worth mentioning that EVERY window / glass door in this property both downstairs and upstairs have lovely views of this huge wrap around garden!
Before we venture upstairs, we really should explore the garden.
It's large! Coming in at 540 sq m. or 5,812 sq ft. it is a gardeners delight!
There is a lovely patio outside the lounge that is perfect for al fresco dining, BBQ's or simply catching some rays with a glass of something. There are superb established beds with beautiful shrubs and trees. A gorgeous pond that is stocked with various fish and aquatic life (this could be filled in but why would you? Simply make it child proof!). There's a circular bench that wraps around a mature apple tree. There is a large lawn on all four sides of this awesome green space! Personally, I would almost live in this garden 24/7 if it were mine! The local wildlife come a flocking to eat & drink here including the wonderful ring necked parakeets that have made Harlow Town Park their home!
For the keen horticulturist, this space could be reconfigured in so many ways. There is so much space that you could create a large vegetable garden, create a wild flower meadow and so much more!
Upstairs there are 4 double bedrooms and the family bathroom, and a squarish large landing allows access to all 5 rooms.
Bedroom 1 is the largest bedroom and has fabulous views from its large window looking over not only its own lovely garden, but also Harlow Town Park and The Burnt Mill Academy playing field. The bedroom has fitted carpet and fitted wardrobes.
Bedroom 2 is a large double and has the same wonderful views as bedroom 1. It also has a fitted carpet.
Bedroom 3 is another double bedroom and has fitted carpet and views across Harlow Town Park as well as the property's own garden.
Bedroom 4 is a small double (or a large single) and has fitted carpet.
The Family Bathroom has a bathtub with overhead shower, a WC & wash basin. There is clever shelving in a recess that would otherwise be redundant, plus there is integrated drawers and cupboards with the WC & Wash Basin. The floor is tiled as is the wall where the bathtub & overhead shower is. There is a heated towel rail.
These properties are scarce and rarely come up for sale. A large family home with a super large garden geographically located in an ideal part of Harlow. All amenities are close and yet when you are inside the perimeter of this property, you could be anywhere!
The time is now right for the current owners to relocate elsewhere, and whilst they know it is the right thing for them to do, they are sad to be leaving the property that has been their home for 10 years! Another chapter in the life of this house awaits the new lucky owners. Will it be you?
Please note there is a £4,500 +vat reservation fee payable to secure this property and to take it off the market. This is payable in addition to the purchase price, as our vendors have opted for our sell-for-free option and this should be considered when making an offer.

A chance meeting some time ago between Lee Venables & Geoff Flewers saw their conversation turn to estate

Wind forward 18 months and they were both running Town and Country Herts & Essex Estate Agents. They

became more convinced than ever that the dubious, archaic & darn right bad practices of far too many estate
