Description
The property occupies an excellent situation just off the centre of Daresbury village – a friendly community rich in history – one that has been nationally well known since Victorian times and provides superb well-presented accommodation eminently suitable for family occupation given its lovely situation with wonderful views over the adjoining farmed countryside.
The accommodation imparts an amiable perception of cottage style comfort – however the rooms are spacious and well appointed and briefly comprise: timber frame porch, reception hall with lofted ceiling and galleried landing, cloakroom, study with dual aspect, a superb lounge with a cosy atmosphere and open fireplace, dining room, garden room and a well-appointed kitchen with an excellent size breakfast area. There is a family room which, with being adjacent to the utility room, could form an ideal space for a dependent relative if required. On the first floor, the galleried landing overlooks the reception hall and leads to four double bedrooms – the master suite is quite impressive accessed via a secondary passage off the main landing and includes a large bedroom, recently refurbished bathroom and separate dressing room. There are three further bedrooms and a shower room. Oil fired central heating and sealed unit double glazing also feature whilst, outside, Coachman's Cottage is approached over a long turning driveway with direct access off Chester Road which provides parking for numerous vehicles in addition to the integral double length garage. The gardens complement the property beautifully lying to the front and rear with decking seating area, paved entertaining space and extensive lawned area all contributing a delightful setting and benefiting from far reaching open views.
Protected by a Conservation Order, Daresbury village has changed little over the years and is probably one of the most attractive unspoilt street villages in Cheshire with a mixture of mainly 18th Century/early 19th Century buildings. The village has achieved fame for its literary and historical associations with the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson who, as Lewis Carroll, was the author of 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Alice Through the Looking Glass'. Within the village there is a local junior primary school which enjoys an excellent reputation along with an attractive inn. Warrington, with its multiple stores and two mainline railway stations, is 4 miles away whilst Stockton Heath is a busy urban village with supermarkets and restaurants. Motorway access is gained at Preston Brook (Junction 11, M56) approximately ¾ mile and both Liverpool and Manchester international airports can normally be reached within 35 minutes’ drive.
