Location
Blandford Forum is said to be one of the best examples of Georgian Town in the whole of England due to the great fire of 1731 which destroyed the vast majority of the town. As a result Architects John & William Bastard set about designing the new church and most of the buildings in the town centre with the majority now protected under the Grade II listing. Being a market town (Thursday's & Saturday's) Blandford offers a host of restaurants, coffee shops, hospital, numerous public houses as well as schooling for all ages and a sports centre. Perfectly located within Dorset, Blandford makes and ideal base to explore the county or the flexibility remaining within commuting distance of the major surrounding towns such as Bournemouth, Poole, Salisbury (with main line links to London) and the County of Dorchester as well as Wimborne.
