According to Wikipedia, in 1848, landowner Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Peers Williams named ‘Craig y Don’ after his home at Beaumaris. The first modern house was built in 1870 on what is now named Carmen Sylva Road and then from 1885 the area was developed as a highly regarded suburb of Llandudno.
