According to Wikipedia, in 1848, landowner Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Peers Williams named ‘Craig y Don’ after his home at Beaumaris. Between 1850 & 1880, the area was used for sand and clay extraction for the lime kilns on the Nant y Gamar hillside. The first modern house was built in 1870 on what is now named Carmen Sylva Road and then from 1885 the area was developed as a highly regarded suburb of Llandudno.
The development was built by Beazer Homes (Northern) Limited, during 1989/1995 and comprises 26 similar detached homes, all with Tudur styled elevations.
The area has a strong community which is well serviced by amenities, all of which are within a mile and include a Medical Practice/Chemist, Primary School, small Shopping Centre & Public Transport. The main Town Centre, Railway Station and Senior School are only a 1.5 miles away.
