Local Area
The attractive and very sought after town of Wymondham displays numerous historic buildings. Wymondham Abbey is one of the finest and most interesting of the historic churches of East Anglia and was built by the chief butler to Henry I as a priory in 1107. It has maintained its market town atmosphere with an attractive town centre. There is a good range of shops. Peruse the medieval streets to the pretty market square with its cross dating back to 1617, browse the many Tudor shop windows or enjoy fine food at the 15th century Green Dragon Inn. Enjoy the weekly, bustling markets and the monthly Farmers market. There are various banking and schooling facilities such as the highly regarded schooling at Wymondham College and Wymondham High Academy, as well as a leisure and a health centre. There is a major Waitrose Superstore along with a Lidl and Morrison’s supermarket. There are superb connections to the A11 by road or rail making for easy access to Norwich and the South.
During the summer months many of the fine gardens of the town are opened for all to enjoy, along with such initiatives as The Wymondham Music Festival, Lemon Day and Christmas activities such as the annual procession of Santa through the town and the Santa Express from the Town's volunteer run Steam Railway and Station

The medieval city of Norwich is close by and is listed as one of the top five places to shop in Britain. It boasts a wonderful blend of historic buildings and modern architecture and offers a year round programme of festivals, artistic and cultural events and a buzzing nightlife.
