Description

Shira Lodge is a fine Category C Listed, former gate lodge constructed in the mid 19th century and designed in the Jacobean Revival style. It is built of red sandstone under a slate roof. This well presented detached house has been superbly maintained by the current owners and is an ideal family home, perfectly positioned to take full advantage of its close proximity to the banks of the nearby River Clyde and the surrounding countryside. The accommodation is deceptively spacious and has a natural and practical flow to the layout. Internally the property has some wonderful features which combine with modern comforts. The property includes four spacious bedrooms, two on the ground floor and two upstairs ensuring the property is suitable for all family set ups. The sitting room has a focal fireplace and dual aspect views over the garden allowing plenty of light. The dining room with its door leading through to the kitchen and conservatory provides a brilliant space for entertaining with two access points to the garden.

The kitchen looks over the garden and is well-appointed with a range of built in storage options and appliances, with plenty of space for dining. The large picture window and adjoining conservatory floods the space with light. The main family bathroom and home office complete the downstairs accommodation while a shower room and hobby room along with the two upper bedrooms complete the first floor. A handy utility and storage room are located on the basement level.
Externally, Shira Lodge is surrounded by a mature evergreen hedge and red sandstone wall providing excellent security and privacy for the charming garden that has been well planned and planted by the current owners. The garden comprises a large area mainly laid to lawn, established shrubs and mature trees providing the perfect tranquil environment to enjoy the numerous patios and sitting areas.
Finally, the property benefits from a garage and a private driveway offering plenty of parking.
