To the south is a large coniferous plantation of mainly Scots Pine, Corsican Pine, Larch and Douglas Fir, planted in the 1900s with a smaller area of deciduous hardwoods to the west. A small parking area is located off Lower Road giving access to a public footpath, which crosses this south-eastern corner. Along the northern section against Higher Road is a large area of semi-natural woodland comprising mixed broadleaves planted in the 1960s, mostly oak and birch, with some yew and sycamore.
