It rises at the foot of Mount Bonifato and has been named wine city and city of art. Alcamo with its castle of the Counts of Modica, its historical centre rich in palaces, churches and works of art is one of the most renowned centres of the province for its history, culture and traditions. A few kilometres from the city centre is the hamlet of Alcamo Marina, a much sought-after seaside resort thanks to its almost 5 km of sandy coastline.
