Location:
Deddington is a market town and civil parish laying circa 6 miles south of Banbury and circa 17 miles north of Oxford. It has a Town  Hall, a C of E church which is the home of many village events including music, a Farmers market and seasonal gatherings.  The award winning  Farmers Market spills into the church from the Market Square  with its array of food and beverage stall holders on a Saturday once a month.  With a choice of 2 pubs in the village and a third to re-open in the summer, a Chinese takeaway and an Indian restaurant gives a good selection for all tastes. There is a variety of shops, including a butchers, deli and food stores, a Post office, hairdressers and an art gallery.

The Windmill Centre has sports facilities and grounds, with floodlit tennis courts and tennis club and all-weather games pitches. It also houses the badminton club and a host of other clubs and village activities, including the local drama group who put on excellent shows including the ‘not to miss’ pantomime every year and there are regular comedy nights too. In the grounds of the Windmill there is a recently renovated playground as well as extensive playing fields which are the homes to two pitches for Deddington Town Football Club (founded in 1888) and Deddington Cricket Club (c1835).

Therapy facilities are to be found at the Wellness Centre, the Ashcroft Centre and Cedar therapy. There’s something for everyone but equally, if your preference is to have a quiet life, it is also a very tranquil location. There are beautiful walks around the parish of Deddington, which includes Hempton and Barford St. Michael to the west and Clifton to the east, which are ideal for walkers, runners, and dog walkers. Probably the most picturesque part of the village for dog walkers is the Deddington Castle Ground which dates to the 11th century. The villages of Aynho, North Aston and Duns Tew are within easy reach.

There are two bus services that run from Oxford and Banbury and rail services operate to Oxford, Birmingham and Stratford upon Avon from Banbury Station .

In the Owners own words:
We moved to the area because of a job move in 2005. After researching the North Oxfordshire area for some time during spring/summer 2005, Deddington became our number one village within the surrounding area to locate, as it has so many facilities and such a lovely village atmosphere in a lovely rural location. We fell in love with the house on first viewing as it had a lovely atmosphere, with the most amazing garden with views, wrapping around the house in a lovely quiet location. The southerly aspect looks out to the Castle grounds. The garden is very private. It is a solid house with plenty of scope to extend (STP).
