Peasenhall is a super village in perfect Suffolk countryside close to the Heritage coast. White Sheep Cottage is hugely historic - lots of beams, lime plaster and wide boards but plenty of 21st century luxuries too and set amidst extensive gardens.

The cottage mixes ancient and modern to create a vibe which feels cool and modern……an abundance of exposed raw oak timbers and wide floorboards......lovely light through largely 17th century windows and lime plastered walls finished in a palette of Farrow and Ball whites to complement the taupes, greys and chocolate of the timbers and floors.

Cool bathrooms have fittings from Bette and Bathstore whilst the kitchen offers every convenience including double oven, halogen hob, microwave, panini maker, blender, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. Guests are welcome to use the washing machine and tumble dryer provided, though city dwellers may enjoy the simple luxury of line-dried laundry!

Beds and pillows are high quality, bed linen and towels are of pure Egyptian cotton, crockery, cutlery, glasses and cookware are plentiful and pleasing. There is wifi broadband, central heating for cooler days and fans for hot summer nights. Books, maps and games are all provided, as are basic provisions and a bottle of wine to welcome you. Outside there is a pretty, private garden and terrace with dining furniture and a barbeque, wild flower meadow with wildlife pond and a bike store. The drive and parking areas bordered by hedges and a tributary of the River Yox are shared with Black Sheep Cottage next door. Views are either rural or of the church and village. Black Sheep and White Sheep can be booked together, most easily by finding Sheep Cottages Peasenhall and sending me a message.

Upstairs are three bedrooms. Two have king sized beds and generous ensuite shower rooms, whilst the third with two single beds is very cute and cosy. It uses the large family bathroom which has a double ended tub.

Downstairs is a huge kitchen with inglenook fireplace, central island, squishy white leather sofa and fabulous 16th century panelling. Opposite is the dining room, low ceilinged and intimate, and beyond is the triple aspect sitting room. French windows open to the terrace and South and West facing garden, which is fenced to make it safe for small children.
