Description

Offered with no upwards chain, an incredibly rare visitor to the open market and following a comprehensive yet sympathetic programme of refurbishment with no expense spared, a spectacular two bedroom penthouse apartment positioned in arguably Leicester city centre's most sought after development. The play of light reacts with the materiality of the space; creating reflections onto Italian Carrara marble work surfaces, refraction through transparent layers and projections onto exposed steel beams. An unusual yet expansive floorplan exceeding 1700 square ft of living accommodation spreads across two floors with the living quarters almost entirely open plan.

Positioned on the top-floor with a private entrance accessed via the roof-terrace, entry to the apartment is through a glass covered walkway offering dual access to the impressive living accommodation, a separate utility room and w/c. To the centre of the plan, a spectacular open plan living/dining kitchen area, characterised by natural light combines with double-height vaulted ceilings with exposed steel beams emphasising the space on offer. A key feature of this space is the open-plan kitchen. The kitchen has been remodelled in recent years with impeccable attention to detail, configured with Italian Carrara marble work surfaces that wrap around the breakfast bar, an integrated fridge/freezer, dishwasher and sufficient eye-level base units. Natural light takes centre stage with the dining area boasting French-doors onto a private, outdoor roof-terrace only accessible to the three penthouse apartments that share the top floor. Back into the entrance hall, the utility room is well equipped with a MegaFlo hot water system, Corian work surfaces with a sink and separate drainer whilst a refurbished w/c completes the ground floor accommodation on offer, styled with hexagon tiles.

Unusual to most apartments, the accommodation is spread across two floors with access to the first floor via a steel glazed wooden staircase. A first floor landing opens to two, incredibly spacious double bedrooms, both equipped with their own en-suites. To one side, the larger of the two double bedrooms is nothing short of impressive. With unrivalled views of Leicester city from the private balcony accessed from aluminium double-glazed French doors and a separate dressing area, the master-bedroom is well equipped with large built-in wardrobes alongside a spectacular four piece en-suite with a free-standing roll-top stone bath, walk-in rainfall shower and w/c. A second double bedroom shares the same quality with built-in wardrobes, a three-piece en-suite and soft plush wool carpets, again, sharing the most incredible views of Leicester city. The property has the added benefit of allocated, underground car-parking for one vehicle, an incredibly rare asset to have in the city.

Without a shadow of a doubt, this is one of our Partner's, Gianfranco Paparozzi's most spectacular apartments to come onto the market in recent months. Though we have tried to really emphasise the quality and space on offer through our photography and videography, an internal inspection is truly essential to appreciate how incredible this space is.

Location:

The Foister Building is a distinctive building, dating back to the early 1930's. Formerly a Hosiery Factory, the building was converted in the early 2000s into a mixed array of apartments with their only being three penthouse apartments designed. The three apartments have access to a private roof-terrace and the most spectacular panoramic views of Leicester city. The position of the development is favourable as it is a a short walk from Leicester train-station with direct trains taking you to Leicester St Pancras in a little over an hour. The Curve Theatre, Athena and popular independent bars and restaurants can be found towards The Cultural Quarter with a further comprehensive array of amenities found towards the city centre, a short walk away from the apartment.

Vendor comments:

" The apartment is so easy to fall in love with, and fortunately, we were lucky enough to call it home. Some aspects that are personal favorites would be the high ceiling, the views of the city and the abundance of living space (a big bedroom really is a treat). Additionally, when you’re here, it really takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets below, being an inner-city haven. The touches of luxury throughout really usher you to continuously pour your love into this place. The style of the apartment also is something of a blank canvas, whilst still offering character; putting your own spin, style and personal touch is a breeze. Lastly, it was always appreciated that the kitchen, bathrooms, and utility had been recently renovated, leaving a fresh feel. With the addition of a new boiler and water tank, everything always runs smoothly - this was particularly handy, as we are not handy. "
