Description

A Grand Entrance

The 1,624 square-foot apartment is reached by a sweeping driveway secured by coded electric gates and framed by mature tree-lined gardens. As you catch your first glimpse of the majestic exterior, you'll notice gateposts demarking a parking area in front of the house, with a second undercover space and visitor parking also available. An impressive communal hallway awaits to convey you to a panelled front door, which reveals a gorgeous deep-set stained-glass window as soon as you step inside.

To your left is a handy cupboard for coats, with more storage space beneath the staircase. Continue along the carpeted hallway, taking a few steps up to a mini landing, where the steps widen as they rise to the first floor.

Split-level Living

On this level, you'll discover a contemporary part-tiled family bathroom fitted with a tiled shower enclosure, chrome heated towel rail, a wall-mounted basin and a close-coupled loo. There's also a large airing cupboard and undercounter cabinets with space for a washing machine beside.

The second bedroom lies across the landing and features a high vaulted ceiling supported by sturdy exposed beams and a sunken leaded window overlooking the beautiful communal gardens. Four integrated storage cupboards come as a useful bonus.

Head up to the upper landing to find the sitting room, which echoes the subtle colour scheme found throughout and comes with more lovely exposed beams and an original latticed sunken stone window. Although tucked in the centre of the apartment, this cosy space is further illuminated by a large central skylight and a west-facing window, plus there are more storage cupboards on hand too.

Wine & Dine

Just to the right is a spacious dining kitchen with similar character features and wooden flooring to complement an L-shaped range of white cabinetry with dark wood worktops. Chrome handles blend seamlessly with stainless steel integrated appliances, including a Neff double oven with an electric hob and extractor hood, a microwave and 1.5-bowl sink, and a concealed dishwasher. Meanwhile, a south-facing latticed window framed by a vaulted ceiling scatters light over the dining area, creating a serene setting for mealtimes.

A Room with a View

Cross the sitting room again to locate a principal bedroom that could easily fit a king-sized bed alongside freestanding wardrobes and furniture. Here, a charming nook illuminated by another south-facing sunken latticed window grants stunning lake vistas and promises quiet afternoons reading or lounging.

Steps descend to your private en suite bathroom, where modern floor tiles pair with a floor-to-ceiling original window for character and style. Soak away your cares in a double-ended bathtub with a handheld shower attachment, storing toiletries or candles in the alcove above. A heated towel rail, floating vanity basin unit and a close-coupled loo complete the suite.

Roam Free

One of the main benefits of owning an apartment in Temple Grove House must be the 15 acres of immaculate communal gardens at your disposal. Besides acting as the perfect backdrop every time you open a window, they also offer hours of safe and private walks and runs without even leaving home. When you need to challenge yourself a little more, why not invite your neighbours for a swim in the heated pool, which features a surrounding terrace and pool house, or a game of tennis?

Out & About

The quiet East Sussex hamlet of Heron's Ghyll lies 3 miles from Crowborough, 5 from Uckfield, and 10 from the historic spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells - all linked by the A26. Boasting a 19th Century garden created by the poet Coventry Patmore and a cricket ground overlooked by the local church, Heron's Ghyll couldn't be more idyllic.

While Royal Tunbridge Wells is famous for its Georgian heritage, fashionable shops, serene parks and period homes, you'll find lots of amenities in Crowborough and Uckfield too. These include an array of pubs and restaurants, health, sports and leisure facilities, supermarkets and several Ofsted-rated 'Good' primary and secondary schools.

In addition, Uckfield hosts one of the oldest independent cinemas in England, an annual arts festival, and a torchlight carnival. The local train station also runs services to London Bridge, which takes around 80 minutes.

Of course, you'll find a great range of woodlands, nature reserves and parks to explore in the surrounding High Weald AONB. Travel a little further afield to soak in the springs and fountains at Pashley Manor Gardens or ramble National Trust owned woodland trails at Scotney Castle.
