Description

GROUND FLOOR

A covered porch leads to the large, open hallway, flooded with natural light from all corners of the house.

From here, the kitchen/living/dining area is triple aspect, running the entire length of the house. This is an ideal day room and a great spot for entertaining. The kitchen has fitted appliances, a range oven and plenty of counter space. The dining area overlooks the front garden while the living area has a woodburning stove and plenty of space for sofas and access to the garden terrace.

The dual aspect sitting room is wonderfully cosy with a fireplace, wooden flooring and access to the back garden.

At the front of the house there's a generous study, which would just as well as a playroom. Finally, the ground floor has a utility room with side access and a w.c.

FIRST FLOOR

Sleepersdelle has 5 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The main suite has an en-suite shower and views over the back garden. Bedroom 2 has a large en-suite and built-in wardrobes, overlooking the front aspect.

Bedrooms 3, 4 and 5 all have built-in wardrobes and are served by a large family bathroom.

The landing winds around the first floor with space for storage chests.

GARDENS

The garden wraps around the house with plenty of space for play, entertaining and quiet moments in the sun as it moves around the house during the day. Mostly laid to lawn, there are paved areas front and back, with a large shed for storage.

The drive fits 3 cars, while the road has resident permit parking for guests.

SELLER INSIGHT

I loved this house on first sight, it's big and modern with loads of space and light. My children were young when we moved here so we needed space, great schools and sports and a safe area so they could have some freedom. This house had all that. It's a really great place to live!

The kitchen has been brilliant - I like entertaining and cooking and it's the perfect room for everyone to be together. I used to cook a Sunday roast every week for the family, these days I host dinner parties and general get-togethers with friends. I've had 50 people here wandering in and out of the house.

Of an evening I use the living room to watch TV or listen to music, it's my calm space. In the spring and summer I'm outside a lot, following the sun around the house from front to back depending on the time of day and year. The garden wraps around the house so we've got plenty of space out there, it's deceptively large. In winter this house is amazing, with the underfloor heating it's very cosy in here.

I've made some great friends here; all the mums and dads know each other so the kids and parents all benefit from the social aspect. I often wander into town to meet friends, there's a huge choice of restaurants and pubs. There are lots of events here too, there's always something going on; The Hat Fair (outdoor arts festival), St Cross fete up the road and at Christmas the whole city comes alive with markets and lights, it's beautiful.

I do like a good walk, The Water Meadows are quite close and very pretty, great for dog walks. The New Forest is nearby too, Brockenhurst in particular is lovely for long walks and an afternoon out.

I used to work in London, as does my son now and commuting is very easy from here. We can jump on the train to London or Basingstoke. Life here is just easy, it's very relaxing here, a great place to raise kids, entertain, travel and just enjoy life really.

I'm moving to downsize, now the children have grown I just don't need this much space anymore. I'll miss it here though, we all will, we've had a wonderful time here.
