Description

An opportunity for prospective buyers to purchase and place their own stamp on a semi detached house close to the heart of this popular and desirable Somerset village. The property enjoys double glazing, gas central heating with south facing lounge, dining room, study, kitchen, utility room and cloakroom. To the first floor are four bedrooms and bathroom. Outside to the front there is a garden and driveway and to the rear a south facing garden.

Axbridge is well located for commuting to local business centres such as Wells, Cheddar, Weston-super-Mare and Bristol and the M5 is nearby for destinations further afield. Bristol International Airport is 15 minutes drive away via the A38. There is a Primary School in the village and Fairlands Middle School and Kings Academy provide Secondary Education in Cheddar 2 miles away.

Axbridge has always been at the centre of things. Indeed, in earlier times, it was a river port. This was reflected in its early charters allowing it to hold markets, fairs and become a royal borough. It even had its own mint, with coins showing the town's symbol - the Lamb and Flag. The layout of the town has changed little over the centuries, and it still retains the essence of a medieval town with its winding streets and historic buildings that remain at the heart of this charming place.

Message from the homeowner:
I spent a lot of time looking at houses in a wide area before I settled on 7 Walnut Close. It came down to Location, Location, Location. It ticked all the boxes.
Within walking distance it has a Doctors Surgery, Post office, Convenience Store, Pubs /Restaurants, Church, Country walks,
Monthly Farmers Market, First School, Cafes and Chemist.

What I didn’t realise at the time was that Axbridge also has a fantastic community. It has a whole range of clubs and activities, an annual progressive meal and a 10 yearly pageant involving the whole community. That is why I don’t intend to leave Axbridge, but downsize locally. Axbridge First School has a great reputation and Fairland Middle School and Kings of Wessex.
It is also in easy travelling distance of Bristol and there is an all-night bus available from the A38.
Walnut Close is a quiet cul-de-sac road with great neighbours. At the end of the road is Cross Moor Drove and the opportunity to walk as far as you like by footpaths. Everything you need is within walking distance. We are on a cycle path through Axbridge, there are plently of footpaths up the hill as well as across the levels.
What makes the house special to me is that I have plenty of space and a large very private garden. The garden has been planned to allow for many separate seating areas to give different feels, sun and shade as the mood takes. It is also great for watching sunsets. There is a herb garden, pond and an insulated summer house with power and lighting that can be used to be “outside” on a chilly evening or wet day, or as an additional work area.
