This complete farmhouse with many possibilities is located in a wonderful location in the small-scale hamlet of Besthmen just outside Ommen.

This area, on the edge of the Besthmenerberg, is very popular with hikers, cyclists, mountain bikers and horse lovers. There are many paths here, such as the Pieterpad, the Vechtdal cycle route and bridle paths, which lead you straight into the woods. This versatile and rolling area invites you to enjoy nature in all its facets.

From this well-maintained house you look over the meadows (the ash) to the forest slightly further away. The yard with old oak trees contains several buildings, including a guesthouse and a large barn which is now used as a studio and storage room.
There is also a horse stable with adjacent grassland and the horse arena. A hay barn and an extra shed for the tractor, etc. are also included.

The authentic farm was completely renovated in 2005. Living in the front house with your own kitchen and bathroom is possible. The former part is the main residence with spacious living room, kitchen, utility room and laundry room. Here is also a separate staircase to the top floor, where there are a total of 6 bedrooms, a second fully equipped bathroom and a separate toilet.
On this floor it is possible to divide the space by means of a door for the sake of privacy for any residents.

In 2012, the current owner turned one of the buildings into a cozy and well-furnished guesthouse. This accommodation is fully furnished with a kitchen and bathroom, its own central heating boiler and a private terrace outside that overlooks the partly private meadows. In 2020, new borders were created in the garden around the house and guesthouse.

Actually, we don't want to leave Besthmen at all. After all, we have been living here wonderfully for twelve years now: nice neighbors, pleasant and helpful neighbors, a beautiful place outside - you can easily go into the forest with your dog, bicycle or horse - and at the same time everything necessary is within cycling distance. Now that our horses are no longer here and we expect that there will soon only be two of us living here, the property with its farmhouse, stables, garden, horse arena and meadows is becoming too much of a good thing. That is why - with pain in our hearts - we have made the decision to sell. To transfer this beautiful place to the next residents who - of course - will also enjoy it again.
