San Fili is a 18th century rural hamlet located in the south-eastern coast of Calabria, in the municipality of Locri. The Estate comprises 18 hectares (44 acres) of farmland and some 1,500 square meters (16,000 square feet) of rural buildings, located on gentle hill slopes, about 5 km from the beaches of the Ionian Sea (a 10 minutes drive). The "Borgo" is currently used as a vacation house by the owners and for summer rentals. It has a considerable tourism development potential, considering the spectacular view on the olive groves and the Ionian sea, the ease of access to the Ionian sea baches in Locri and nearby cities, the proximity to local attractions such as the exquisite medieval hill town of Gerace (with its 12th century cathedral), the National Museum of Reggio Calabria (featuring the world-famous Riace Bronzes); and to the mountain excursions in the Aspromonte National Park, in places such as Zomaro and its lake, which provide a welcome cooling down opportunity during the warmer summer days.
