What Is Shared Ownership?  
Shared Ownership enables you to buy a share in the home via a mortgage or savings and you pay a reduced rent on the part you do not own. The initial percentage that you buy would be between 10% and 75% based on what you can afford.

As strong demand is anticipated, any applications received will be prioritised according to the following criteria in order:

1. Applicants who meet with the armed forces covenant
2. Applicants whose household will fully occupy the property
3. Those who propose to buy the greatest initial share
4. Date order

In order to be considered, your application must consist of a completed application form and evidence of a mortgage in principle or other evidence to demonstrate that you can finance the purchase.

The successful applicant will be required to submit all of the necessary supporting documentation within 1 week of being notified. If any documentation is not received within 1 week, East Suffolk Council may choose to proceed with an alternative applicant.

If more than one applicant (or no applicants) have a local connection or meets the military covenant, preference will be given to applicants based on the proposed occupancy level of the property with preference given to those that will be fully occupying or are closest to fully occupying the property. - 1 bedroom need - Single or Couples
- 2 bedroom need - Families with 1 child or 2 children of the same sex
- 3 bedroom need - Families with 2 children of different sex or Families with 3+ children
Any households falling outside the above categories will be considered on a case by case basis.

Initial Share
