In Our Opinion

A really versatile and spacious family home with bundles of character and charm. The location and views are superb with fields and woodland all around. This has been a long term family home and it is now time to pass the baton onto another lucky family to make their own memories.

Location

This delightful semi detached Victorian property with attractive tile hung elevations occupies a lovely position on the outskirts of the charming Kentish village of Horsmonden backing onto fields and woodland. The property under 1/2 mile from the village centre and is also within the much sought after Cranbrook School Catchment Area.

The village of Horsmonden with its charming village green boasts a Country Inn and a selection of local shops including a general store/deli, chemist and hairdresser. There is also a well regarded Village Primary School and Kindergarten.
As well as the village school there are a variety of schools in the area namely Bethany, Benenden School, Marlborough House, St Ronans, High Weald Academy and Dulwich Prep School as well as the Boys and Girls Grammar Schools in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
Located approximately 15 minutes drive from Royal Tunbridge Wells and 10 minutes drive from either Paddock Wood or Marden mainline stations.

In the vendors own words why they have loved this property

'I was looking for a property  in Kent, somewhere  rural. I spotted  my beautiful  cottage in an estate agents window and fell in love straight away. I booked an appointment the next day and went to look.  I arrived at cottage and met the sitting tenant Miss Russell who was actually  born there. She made tea for the soldiers  who walked across  fields to the Manor House where they were based.

When I arrived back home I immediately  put a deposit down, my family didn't even see it. I knew this was the property I wanted to raise my family in and build some great memories. So in 1994 we moved in and added a 3 stroey extension. Our family have had so many lovely years there and Miss Russell, now 84 moved to the village and we became great friends.

I'm so sad to leave my cottage after 29 years but family have moved away and it's too big for me.

I hope the next family will love our cottage as we did.

Christine.
