No. 20 Godre'r Mynydd sits at the end of this very peaceful Cul-de-Sac in Gwernymynydd and has been family owned for the past 43 years. From what I understand, it's been a fantastic home for the family that have lived here for this duration.

Now, the senior member of the family, who was the last to leave, fought in the second world war for us all, and from what I can see and hear, was a very courageous man. He stayed here, living independently on his own, with his loving and caring family all around supporting him until he was 99 years of age but unfortunately, he was taken ill and passed away in hospital, leaving this bungalow empty and ready for the next chapter of its life, hence you now have the option to take it on.

It is perfectly habitable inside but, with my many years of experience in this industry, my guess is that you will probably update it and bring it more in line with the more modern 21st century living.

Pulling up outside, the driveway rises to an attached garage, and provides parking for a few vehicles. There is a large area of lawn to the right hand side of the drive which could, if required, be turned into a larger parking area, but currently looks fantastic with grass.

The garage is attached to the bungalow and I'm sure with the help of a good builder and advice from the local planning office, be turned into some more internal space for the home, if you really needed it.

Walking through the front door, it's like stepping back into the 1980's. A parquet style tiled floor welcomes us into the porch, where in front, is a wooden glass door with patterned glass, that's equivalent to a frosted window of today! It's beautiful but may not necessarily meet the safety standards of today. This space is ideal for wet coats and shoes before entering into the main home.

The entrance hallway is next in line, with a door immediately on our right which opens into the lounge, but in front of us as we continue on into the hallway, is a large empty space which could offer so much more.

The beauty of this bungalow is that walls can be taken down very easily, so that reshaping this home into something even greater won't be so hard. For instance, the hallway can be made smaller and the lounge larger, or you could remove the wall from the kitchen to create a large kitchen / breakfast / dining area. You could just leave the walls where they are and stick a dining table in too....isn't it great to have choices??

So the kitchen can be found as you walk in from the entrance hall on the far left hand side. A thin waist high wall with more of this patterned glass, sets the boundary for the kitchen.

Inside the kitchen, you'd expect it to be nice and bright thanks to all of the glass that surrounds it. Worksurfaces cover four walls and provide ample space for food preparation. The units are somewhat dated but perfectly adequate for conjuring some great meals.....well you know what they say, a bad workman blames his/her tools! Saying that, you'd want to change it around so that you can bring it more in line with today.

From the kitchen, a rear door opens into what would have been the garden, but an add on has been built to cater for a very handy utility room. With the help of a builder, this could become a much larger part of the kitchen / dining room, and if your budget allowed, you added some Bi-Fold doors, it would create a fabulous more Al-Fresco dining experience.

From the original doorway in the hallway, we'll now head back to the lounge.

It's a great sized room, with part of it taken up by the large entrance hallway, which we have said you could remedy by taking the wall out and moving it (look at the floor plans to give you a better idea). A huge set of windows provide far reaching views over the front aspect and also let a lot of light back in and the two doors in here are both mainly made up from glass panels which also helps. One thing you can't say about this bungalow is, it's dark! An old gas fire sits in the centre of the wall as a focal point, but I doubt if that will be staying somehow. A log burner would look perfect in its place, but seek professional advice before buying one!

The second door in here takes us into the internal second hallway, with doors leading to all of the sleeping quarters and the bathroom.

The first door opens into the shower room. It comes with a shower cubicle, not your usual glass screen but none the less, it does what it says on the tin. There's a modern stylish sink with vanity unit below . It's tiled from floor to ceiling for easy maintenance and a set of windows, placed up high, are there to keep it nice an bright with natural light.

Next door, and we are stepping back in time here, is the toilet. Back then, the bathroom and toilet were kept separate. You could very easily knock the wall through to create one larger space, or keep it original and just update the toilet. It's just in case there are two of you in the home, both requiring the bathroom at the same time.....now the separation makes perfect sense! Another window placed high up, keeps it well lit.

Working our way around the home we come to one of the two larger bedrooms. The main one is larger than the other as you would expect, but both look out over the rear garden and offer a good degree of privacy. Both capable of taking in large double beds and freestanding furniture.

The smaller of the two bedrooms is still a double, but you may have to cut back on some furniture in here if you do need to squeeze on in. It would however, make an ideal single, nursery or even office if you can afford the space.

Outside and the rear garden. There's a small patio directly outside the sunroom, which is off the back of the kitchen, with another raised patio area to the rear of that. The whole garden is either bordered by large hedges and trees or wooden fences. Ain the far top corner is a summerhouse, it could do with some sprucing up if I'm honest but, where it is offers the best far reaching views over Wales. There's a large area of lawn that will keep you busy, with the rest of the garden offering so much potential to those with green fingers.
