There are two very well regarded pubs in the High Street, the Catherine Wheel and the Lord Nelson Inn and the pretty Sweetapples tea shop is worth a visit. There is also an interiors shop, post office, general store, doctors' surgery, 2 garages and primary school, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

The village is 5 minutes from J18 of the M4; 15 minutes from Chippenham main line station with regular high speed connections to London. Bath and Bristol are also within easy reach.
