The Gaunt family can be traced back to the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1, 1558 - 1603. The family history is rich in terms of its connection to the area of Calverley, Pudsey and Farsley, and its involvement in textiles, first as clothiers and subsequently as Worsted Spinners and Woollen and Worsted manufacturers at Springfield and Broom Mills.
