Description

This delightful five bedroom residence is located in a private enclave of eight Scandinavian style detached properties only a minute from the seafront. It has a swimming pool, sea views and a large secluded garden set within 0.5114 of an acre and, with its brick turret, wood cladding, Portland stone wall and arched front porch, has great kerb appeal.

The hall has ash wood flooring that flows through to the reception rooms and a cloakroom in the turret. The sitting room is open to the dual aspect dining area and has a vaulted ceiling, a contemporary raised log burner with a flat marble surround and two pairs of patio doors to the rear terrace as well as spiral stairs to a galleried mezzanine level with access to a large balcony. A modern kitchen/breakfast room includes a central island, wood units with granite worktops housing a variety of appliances and space for a table and chairs. It is adjacent to the snug and has a door to the terrace. An archway leads to the utility room, the triple garage and a guestroom with en-suite shower room with external access to the pool area.

The galleried landing leads to the small seating area in the turret with sea views and the contemporary family bathroom. There is a single and three double bedrooms that all have fitted cupboards including the stunning main bedroom with its vast dressing area and an en suite shower room.

A block paved terrace with a built in hexagonal dining table spans the rear of the property. Steps lead to the large lawn bordered by mature trees, shrubs and a fishpond. The secluded swimming pool is surrounded by a brick wall and has a solar cover and water jets. A sizeable front garden includes a greenhouse, vegetable patch, large shrub beds and attractive trees.

What the Owner says:

We bought this special family home in 1998 as we loved being near the sea yet quiet and secluded. We enjoy the vaulted lounge and the mezzanine floor as well as the large main bedroom and the house is great for entertaining. We are also very close to the bowls and tennis clubs. Birchington village centre is within easy reach with its mainline station, individual shops, restaurants, supermarket, hairdressers, nail bars, vets and a medical centre as well as Quex Park.
