Clarkston Farm is located 4 miles from the historic market town and Royal Burgh of Lanark. Fishing is available by permit on a number of local lochs and rivers, notably the excellent trout fishing on the Clyde, while field sports opportunities are also available locally. The surrounding quiet country roads offer good hacking and as with most parts of Scotland one is never too far from a golf course. There is a challenging, championship standard, 18 hole parkland golf course in Lanark.

Ingliston and Rowallan equestrian centres are 43 miles and 48 miles distant, respectively.
