Completed in 1993, this substantial family home enjoys the seclusion of its location and offers flexible accommodation over three beautifully-presented floors. The delightful interiors include seven/eight bedrooms, four reception rooms and a large indoor pool complex with pool, Jacuzzi, gym, shower and cloakroom.

The Story
Enjoying breakfast in the sunshine with their children, the current owners reflect on how much life at Four Ells revolves around family activities.
We all join in the fun. The house is used fully, he said. We all enjoy sitting out in the garden or spending time together in the house.
The couple moved into Four Ells nine years ago and they still remember the time they drove into the private courtyard.
I liked the look of the house as it felt right the moment I stepped over the threshold. It is all bright and airy and each room flows naturally in to the next.
He added, But it was the huge hall that had the wow factor for me.

ORIENTAL IMPRESSION

Four Ells was completed in 1993 and is set on the site of the original house that was pulled down and rebuilt to give more room for a family with seven children.

It is built of old stock bricks and special rendering on the upper half, said the owner, who loves the warm mellow red of the old-style bricks when the sun catches them in the evening.

The house now has five bedrooms on the first floor and two on the top floor. It is nice for the children to all have their own rooms, he added.

The décor all through the house has an oriental feel with its dark oak wooden fittings against the jasmine tinted white walls.
There are the occasional splashes of colour from the mosaic Indian rugs scattered over the wooden floors.

COOKING UP A TREAT

The couple refitted the kitchen completely when they moved in.The kitchen has a beige marble-effect porcelain tiled floor, all new cabinets and black granite work surfaces.
There is a Neff built-in oven and a built-in range oven for mum to showcase her culinary arts that are appreciated by her family, but it is dad who takes over when it comes to barbecues on the terrace.
Although my wife prepares the homemade burgers for me beforehand!' head admitted.
But for the younger members of the family it is the family room that is the favourite with its huge toy boxes, two sofas and television.

TIME TO PARTY

The owner said that he enjoys waking up in the mornings and looking out of the top bedroom window to see the nearby park stretching in front of him in all its greenery.
We are on a bit of a hill but the garden has trees all round it so we can only see the park from the top of the house, he explained.
The couple also love to entertain their friends and the drawing room is large enough for 100 guests, while the dining room has a table that is 10ft long.
Most of the furniture in the drawing room was made especially for the room, including a wall cupboard in dark oak with wood carving on the doors, and he added: We have lots of birthday parties here and they are all special.

Accommodation
Ground Floor

Vine Lane is one of the most exclusive roads in North Hillingdon with a mix of period and substantial family houses plus the hugely popular Hillingdon Golf Club. Like a jewel in the Crown Four Ells is tucked away down a private road which backs onto parkland. From the sweeping private drive you get your first glimpse of the charming elevations with double doors that open to a striking reception hall. This inviting and spacious area provides a warm welcome that is heightened by the satinwood finish wooden floors. The rooms that lead off it are no less impressive and first you make your way to the double aspect drawing room. The opulent amount of space (approximately 35ft) is ideal for entertaining with views to the front and rear of the house. Doors open to the terrace and garden beyond creating an easy flow that is wonderful during the summer, while throughout the cooler months you can relax in front of the beautiful marble fireplace. Moving on, double doors open to the formal dining room and, in turn, a single door leads you into the bright and spacious fitted kitchen. With views of the rear garden, the kitchen forms a fabulous social space for family and friends with a plethora of cabinets that are topped by granite work surfaces, while the porcelain tiles conceal the under-floor heating. Additionally, there is a separate and invaluable utility room. Returning to the reception hall you also find a family room, study and cloakroom.

First Floor

From the expansive galleried landing there is access to five lovely bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts a dressing room with a full range of wardrobes, plus a spacious five-piece en-suite that incorporates a 'Temple Shower' where water jets are ejected from all angles. Second Floor

Ideal as self-contained guest accommodation or staff quarters, this level offers two further bedrooms, one with an en-suite. There is a second family bathroom and a room presently housing a kitchenette that could become an eighth bedroom should it be so required.

Swimming Pool Complex

To the front of the house is the glorious indoor swimming pool complex complete with Jacuzzi, gym area, shower and cloakroom.

Setting the Scene
The house is set in a large garden with fully mature trees such as a Poplar tree and other mature surrounding trees. The terrace has evergreen shrubs dotted around, and there is a lawn where the youngsters enjoyed their big trampoline this summer.
We all enjoy sitting out in the garden in summer and there are so many birds, you can hear them twittering away.
There are small flowerbeds with Jasmine to one side and summer flowering shrubs. There is a big shed hidden out of sight at the back of the house for storage. Also tucked away within its mature foliage is the' secret' gateway leading to the park beyond where the children can escape to play within the adventure playground or field. The large private driveway provides plenty of parking.
