Dalchreichart is a small rural hamlet in Glen Moriston about 1 mile from the A887. The village of Invermoriston is about 10 miles east and has a shop, café, restaurant, hotel, bar and village hall. Fort Augustus (16 miles away) is a busy tourist destination at the head of Loch Ness. Pupils from Dalchreichart attend Fort Augustus Primary School with secondary schooling at the Glen Urquhart High School in Drumnadrochit which is well known for its association with the Loch Ness Monster. Inverness is approximately 36 miles away and has a greater variety of facilities including modern shopping centres, theatre, hotels, restaurants, cinemas, a mainline railway station and a regional hospital. Inverness airport is about 8 miles from the centre of the city and has both domestic and overseas flights including Flybe and Easyjet to London Gatwick, Luton, Birmingham, Belfast, Manchester and Bristol. Dalchreichart is situated in stunning countryside with wonderful views of the Kintail mountains. The hill walker, mountaineer and golfer are well catered for and all forms of country sports are available as well as water sports on the nearby and world famous Loch Ness.
From Inverness take the A82 heading southwest passing through Drumnadrochit (about 13 miles from Inverness) until you reach Invermoriston (about 26 miles from Inverness). At Invermoriston turn right onto the A887 for a further 8.5 miles and then turn right at the signpost marked Dalchreichart/Tomchrasky. Follow the road for about 1 mile until you reach Dalchreichart former primary school. The Balnacairn plot is just beyond the school on the right hand side.
Balnacairn plot is located towards the western end of the village of Dalchreichart just off the A887 approx 10 miles west of Invermoriston. The site lies immediately to the west of the former Dalchreichart Primary School, extends to about 0.581 hectares (1.43 acres) and is relatively flat, comprising mostly heather and scrub. There are some wooden electricity pylons crossing the site which is outlined in pink on the Plan.
Planning in Principle for a house was granted on 14th September 2010 and is valid for three years with no onerous conditions. All existing access rights to and egress from the site are included in the sale and access can be taken directly from the public road.
Electricity and water close by. A suitable drainage system is to be installed by the purchaser.
