A turn of the century restored farmhouse situated in one of Hampshire's loveliest gardens and nursery. The gardens at Apple Court were created in 1988 by Roger Grounds and Diana Grenfell and consist of numerous different themed areas, along with a sales area for the thriving nursery which specialises in rare and unusual plants. There are also various outbuildings and barns along with a large customer car park to the rear.
This is a charming and quite unique detached property with interconnecting annexe fronting magnificent internationally renowned walled gardens. Originally a Victorian apple store for Yeatton House which lies to the south, Apple Court was converted into a home sometime during the 1960's. Having versatile accommodation it can be either a very comfortable five bedroomed house or a property with annexe, the self contained and interconnecting cottage was added circa 1997. The gardens, arguably one of Hampshire's finest, contain many rare and unusual plants. They have evolved over the years into the present interlocking design seen today, which have been featured in several magazines and are open for the National Garden scheme. In all the grounds extend to approximately three acres.

GROUNDS AND NURSERY: The house 'Apple Court' was originally the apple store of nearby Yeatton House. In 1950 the apple store was converted into a squash court and then in the 1960's it was subsequently converted into a residence, hence its name. The gardens were created in 1988 in the then abandoned walled kitchen garden and extend to approximately one acre of rich and loamy soil, approximately 10m above sea level.
The design of the garden forms a break against the coastal winds, the sea being less than a mile away. It has been segmented into areas, each giving a different visual effect and creating appropriate microclimate for plants in each particular area. The overall effect is a garden in which different areas succeed each other, through the year. The grounds also contain Cottage and Japanese gardens, the latter containing a large Koi carp pond. There are various walks, borders, walls, seats and features. The adjoining nurseries and sales room extend to just over one acre and currently specialises in the sale and export of rare plants.
There is a covered cultivation area, a walled courtyard, gardeners office and workshop, a large car parking area and a range of derelict farm buildings, ideal for conversion into residential/holiday accommodation (subject to planning permission).
