Description
East View House is a substantial period house which is believed to date back to the 18th Century. The house has been sympathetically extended in recent years and is beautifully presented. There is a superb family kitchen with a vaulted ceiling and a 4 oven AGA and a 2 oven AGA electric module. Pocket doors lead through to the impressive principal reception room to the rear of the house which features an open fireplace with bespoke Bath stone surround and French doors opening onto a delightful block paved courtyard garden. In the older section of the house is a delightful playroom off the kitchen, a study and utility/boot room. On the first floor is a vaulted master bedroom with French doors opening onto a balcony overlooking the courtyard. There are also far reaching views over the gardens and countryside beyond. There are four further bedrooms, one of which has a dressing area, which could alternatively be used as a further bedroom and it has plumbing to be an en-suite bathroom. The house is finished to a high standard and features oaks doors and flooring, with sanitary fittings in a heritage style. The main reception room, kitchen and playroom have been wired for a Bose sound system. To the front of the house there are views towards the village green, to the rear, the focus is on the delightful courtyard garden. The gardens have been designed for colour throughout the summer, with evergreen varieties for the winter. It is a superbly sheltered space, enclosed by colourful raised borders and mellow red brick walls adorned by climbing varieties of honeysuckle, clematis and roses. The courtyard is ideal for entertaining and there are numerous lights interspersed through out the garden.
Accommodation
Outside
Beyond the courtyard garden, a shingle driveway culminates in a wide parking area with post and rail fencing and a garden summerhouse/workshop.
