The Location

The private beach side roads of East and West Strand are one of the most exclusive addresses on the South Coast. Located within yards of sandy beaches and the famous National Trust Reserve of East Head they have access to beautiful walks over the sand dunes and stunning views across The Solent to the Nab Tower and Isle of Wight. Both the beaches of East and West Wittering are a haven for windsurfers and most recently have become a popular destination for land boarding and kite surfing.

The village has many of its own facilities including a public house, parish church, primary school, butcher, two convenience stores, restaurant and sailing club. Excellent shopping facilities are also available in nearby East Wittering with further butchers, greengrocers, chemist and fishmonger. The cathedral city of Chichester some eight miles to the north provides comprehensive amenities arranged partly within the old Roman walls and pedestrianized area. The arts are well catered for as Chichester is home to the internationally known Festival Theatre, The Minerva Theatre and Pallant House Gallery, which houses one of the most significant modern art collections in the south of England. There are several choices of vehicle access to London including either the M27/A3 or the A285 via Petworth to the A283, joining the A3 at Milford. The mainline station located at Chichester provides a regular service to London Victoria in about 1 hour 40 minutes and to Gatwick in about 1 hour 5 minutes. The alternative slightly faster rail service to London is also available from Havant in about 1 hour 20 minutes, to London Waterloo.
