There has been a 'Wickhurst Farm' on this site since at least 1825, and it is likely that the original Farmhouse was built around this time. The house that exists today is however predominantly Victorian in character with good ceiling heights, bay windows, wide hall and door ways with panelled doors and decorative fireplaces in several of the rooms. Other points of note include tall, low set windows, dado rails and period style radiators.
The rooms are well proportioned and a single storey extension has been added to the rear of the house to provide a modern open plan kitchen / breakfast room. Part of the house has also been used as a self-contained annexe (known as 'Little Wickhurst'), although this is currently included as part of the main house as there are doors between them on the ground and first floors.
