Edmund Williams
Group Managing Director
Ed Williams joined Rightmove as managing director at the time that the original joint venture was established in 2000. Ed formed the senior management team that continues to run the business and led the day-to-day operational management of the website advertising business until 2004. Since 2005 Ed has been focused on the opportunities to broaden the business, building external relationships and the transition to being a public company. His prior experience is in business strategy and IT consulting with McKinsey & Co, Accenture and JPMorgan.
Nick McKittrick
Managing Director
Nick McKittrick joined the Company in 2000 to focus on its technology and operations. He led the development of the Company’s original website and technology platform, built the new homes business, overseas and lettings businesses and took over the operational responsibilities for our property website advertising business from 2005. Before joining the Company he worked in Accenture’s management consultancy team for eight years working in the technology consulting division and was a technical architect in the government and telecoms sectors before advancing into the management of large-scale projects across various industry sectors.
Graham Zacharias
Group Finance Director
Graham Zacharias was appointed Group Finance Director of Rightmove in January 2006. He has 33 years of experience in a range of operational and financial roles. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers and Lybrand working in Spain for several years before joining Schlumberger where he held a number of finance roles in Dubai and London. He then moved to Singapore as Managing Director of a small, publicly-quotes company before returning to the UK as Finance Director of BTR’s Aerospace Group. Recently, Graham held the post of Group Finance Director for over nine years at Spectris plc, a process and control and instrumentation company in the FTSE 250.
Miles Shipside
Commercial Director
Miles joined Rightmove from HBOS in early 2001 to be one of the founding Directors. He brought over 20 years experience of the Estate Agency Industry to his role as Commercial Director, helping the Rightmove business to meet the needs of its customers and home movers. He has responsibility for trade and media relations, specialising in advising the industry on how the internet has transformed aspects of estate agency and maximising it’s potential. He carries out extensive media work on the state of the housing market, including the monthly Rightmove House Price Index. Before joining Rightmove, he worked for Halifax Estate Agencies as a Regional Executive in charge of 60 branches, and prior to that was a Director at an independent estate agent, involved in both the residential sales and rentals in the East Midlands. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1982.
Alan Gearing
Property Related Services and Marketing Director
Alan Gearing joined Rightmove as Property Related Services Director in the summer of 2006, and has responsibility for Marketing and PR, and the development of new lines of revenue for the business including the development of the Rightmove AVM. Before joining the Company, Alan spent the first half of his career working for a subsidiary of the Winterthur Insurance Group, becoming Head of their Estate Agency Channel in 1993. After leaving Winterthur, he was a founder shareholder and Director of The Asset Management Group, which grew rapidly to become the leading provider of property disposal and maintenance services to mortgage lenders. Alan spent eight years as Managing Director of Cubitt and West Estate Agents for the Arun Group, before forming The Inventory Exchange, an on-line Inventory and Property Inspection company and also worked on a wide range of consultancy projects within the residential property sector.
Peter Brooks-Johnson
Product Director
Prior to joining Rightmove in January 2006, Peter Brooks- Johnson worked for over six years in the management consultancy divisions of Accenture and The Berkeley Partnership. Whilst consulting, Peter focused on delivering large projects and programmes for blue chip clients. With Accenture, Peter managed large technology delivery projects including utility and financial services companies. Latterly Peter spent four years at BP managing technology led change projects including projects distributed across three continents. Other clients included Marks & Spencer and the Woolwich.
Scott Marshall
Finance Director
Scott joined Rightmove in early 2001 as finance director and company secretary. He has over 10 years of finance and accounting experience in industry and public practice. Prior to joining Rightmove, in 2000, he was the group financial controller of e-commerce company Boxman.com. Previously at Ernst & Young, he worked in both Australia and Sweden and specialised in corporate recovery and insolvency before changing to international taxation process consulting working at clients such as Shell and Nissan. Scott qualified as a chartered accountant in Australia.
Justin Figgins
Head of Rightmove Overseas
Justin Figgins joined Rightmove in 2005 as Head of Group Strategy responsible for activities beyond the existing business, such as M&A opportunities, new business ventures and execution of an initial public offering. In September 2006, he was appointed Head of Rightmove Overseas, which caters to British homebuyers looking for property abroad. Justin has 12 years of experience in corporate finance and strategic planning. Justin spent two years at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in London as Vice President of TMT banking focusing on capital raising and M&A for various clients across Europe. More recently, he was Director of M&A at Cendant Europe, focusing on leisure and on-line travel acquisitions. Justin began his career in the United States at Prudential Financial, where he spent six years in their investment banking and strategic planning divisions. He received his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Rochester in 1992, and a M.B.A from the Johnson School at Cornell University in 2000.
Simon Hickie
Head of HR
Simon Hickie joined Rightmove as Head of HR in March 2007. Before joining the Company, Simon worked for more than seven years at Bloomberg LP where he was responsible for HR operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to moving into HR, he had managed part of Bloomberg’s financial research operation focussed on coverage of new debt and equity security issuance into the European markets and M&A activity across the region. From 1996 to 1999, Simon worked for LDK Consultants in Athens running SME development projects across Central and Eastern Europe. He graduated with an MA in Classics from the University of Cambridge in 1996, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from the University of Middlesex in 2006.
