How to search England & Wales data

To begin your search, please enter the postcode of the area you wish to search in. Please note that this site only provides information for properties sold since April 2000 in Great Britain based on data from HM Land Registry and the Registers of Scotland.

You will then be asked to clarify your search preferences:

Search area

Please specify whether you are only interested in

  • This Postcode Only (e.g. TW1 3AY)
  • My Neighbourhood (e.g. TW1 3A)
  • My Postcode Sector (e.g. TW1 3)
  • My Local Area (e.g. TW1)

If your search does not bring up the expected results, please try a wider search area.

TOP TIP!

Borderline Postcodes: Some postcodes fall on the border of England and Scotland (for example TD12). In these circumstances, you will be asked to specify which data you would like your results from - you can choose either England & Wales (Land Registry) or Scotland (Registers of Scotland).

Type of property

You can search for specific types of property - detached, semi-detached, terrace houses or flats or all types of property.

Newly built homes

You can specify whether you want to search new homes, resale homes or both. Please note, a new home is defined as a home that has been sold to its first owner.

Search Dates

Searching by all years gives you all records since April 2000 from the Land Registry. It is possible to search for dates prior to April 2000 by going direct to the Land registry.

Find House Prices

Once you have entered your criteria, click on "Find house prices" button to see your search results. If you do not find any relevant properties, please try widening your search criteria.House prices search criteria page with Find house prices button highlighted

Results for England & Wales data

Street Level view

The street level results give you a summary overview by property type, the number of sales that matched your criteria and the average selling price.

It will also give you a street level summary in the second table. To view sales for a specific street, click on the street name.

Full Address view

You will now be able to view sales for the street you have selected. You can sort the data by date, property, type or price to find exactly what you are looking for. In addition, the detail view also tells you whether the home is freehold or leasehold and whether it is an old or new build property.
