In the heart of an established residential area, New Acres has the benefit of nearby main road access to historic Carlisle, but all of the facilities a family could want nearby. In addition to the local Heysham Park, other attractive parks include the City's Bitts Park.

Carlisle, which is often called the Border City, has a rich heritage and is the largest city in Cumbria – Lake District country. New Acres is conveniently situated on the south-west side of Carlisle and is built along side Heysham Park, which offers families, joggers and walkers the opportunity to access a pleasant 2 mile corridor of greenery, play areas, flower park and sports park.

Close to New Acres are not one, but two activity centres - the Magic Castle and Play Raffles - to keep the kids content. Just off the A595 Wigton Road to the city, and conveniently placed for the M6, about three miles away.

For those moving to Carlisle, this is Cumbria 's main transportation hub: Carlisle train station is the West Coast main line with a number of additional lines linking the city with Glasgow and Dumfries to the north, Newcastle to the east, and the rest of the North West. Carlisle also provides easy access to the M6 motorway.

From the North
Follow the A7 towards Carlisle City Centre. At the Hardwicke Circus Roundabout take the fourth exit onto the A595 Castle Way. After approximately one mile, at the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A595 Wigton Road. Take the fifth right onto Bower Street, and then second left onto Brookside.

From the South
Exit the M6 at Junction 43 and take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A69 Warwick Road. After approximately one mile turn right, following the A69. Continue along the A69 Victoria Place for a further half a mile, then at the crossroads, turn right onto the A7 Georgian Way. At the Hardwicke Circus Roundabout take the first exit onto the A595 Castle Way. After approximately one mile, at the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A595 Wigton Road. Take the fifth right onto Bower Street, and then second left onto Brookside.
