    Country Properties has been trading from the office in Bridge Road since 1989 when it was opened by the owner Chris Coventry.

    During this time the business has greatly evolved with Chris Coventry and his team always looking for ways in which Country Properties could stay one of the market leaders within the Garden City.

    As the success of the branch grew it was necessary to expand the office, add staff, stay up to date with new technology as it has emerged always keeping ourselves at the forefront of marketing

    techniques raising the standards of service provided to our clients to ever higher levels.

    Our office occupies a high profile location opposite John Lewis store and adjacent to Waitrose, on the busiest road junction in Welwyn Garden City town centre, as well as being the main walkway into the town centre for workers from both Shire Park and Xerox. Waitrose and the Howard Centre are within a few yards with ample parking facilities close by, ensuring that no potential buyers overlook our prominent property display.

    Chris Coventry - Principal
    Chris started his career in 1979 working for Howards, the first Garden City estate agent. He opened Country Properties in 1989 with the aim of providing high quality ethical service and has seen the office go from strength to strength. He enjoys all sports and resurrecting classic cars and lives just south of Hitchin with his wife Jo and 2 mad Whippets!!

    Chris Chalkley - Senior Negotiator / Valuer
    Chris started working as an estate agent in Hitchin in 1996 for one of the large corporate companies, moving up through the ranks he stayed with that firm becoming the Branch Manager of Letchworth Garden City office. Looking for a change he moved to Welwyn Garden City and started working for Country Properties in 2002 and he has been with us ever since. Chris is a competitive guy whose interests include spending time with his wife and three children and many sports, he is a qualified football coach and has managed a successful youth football team since 2005 who are proudly sponsored by Country Properties.

    Andrew Burton - Sales Negotiator / Valuer
    Andrew joined the Country Properties team back in 2010 as a negotiator and has a true passion for both property and people. In 2011 he was awarded Network Person of the Year for "his approach to work, enthusiasm, dedication, effectiveness and overall personality".

    Doug Moore - IFA / Lettings Manager
    Doug joined Country Properties in Welwyn Garden City on its opening in 1989 so he obviously enjoys it! In particular meeting new people and doing his best to help them. He has been married to his wife Jane, since 2001 and has 3 sons. When he is not at work his family and energetic boys keep him busy.

    Lauren Krausz - Letting Negotiator
    Lauren joined the Lettings Department of Country Properties during 2009 to assist Doug in the very busy and expanding rental market. Her role incorporates everything from valuations through to the management of our landlord's properties. Being a people person, she enjoys dealing with the public on a day to day basis and throughout each tenancy, treating each property as if it were her own! She lives in Welwyn Garden City with her partner and two young children.

    Jo Joined our team as a Lettings Negotiator in 2013 after taking a break from her previous job as a Barristers Clerk to have her daughter, she has fitted into the office very well with her friendly and conscientious attitude and very much enjoys the hustle and bustle of our busy office.

    Margaret Whiting - Office Co-ordinator
    Margaret joined Country Properties as a full time Office Co-ordinator in 2003, after having various other office based roles around Welwyn Garden City. Margaret now works part -time as she has two little boys to look after. Margaret was born in Welwyn Garden City and has a very good knowledge of the local area and lives in here with her partner. She enjoys a varied busy role, with lots of customer contact.

      We found country properties to be very honest and realistic. They didn't give us the highest valuation for the property we were selling but we thought they were realistic and they backed up their valuation with previous sales history of the area. They gave us a lot of time. They turned up on time. However the main reason we chose country properties was their follow through and speed to act which began the very day after valuation when we received a written valuation and a phone call. Details produced on the property were of a good quality. They were very successful in arranging a lot of appointments which led to five offers and a good buyer. Andrew followed through every person who viewed the property promptly and ascertained their views on the property.
