The teacher brought the children's work into the office for judging with medals and certificates being awarded during a presentation in the classroom.

    The Witterings & Bracklesham Bay
    • Paragraph

East Wittering Estate Agents & Letting Agents

Henry Adams East Wittering Estate Agents is just a stone's throw away from the sea. Our well-established team plays an important role in this idyllic coastal community and our office here covers both East and West Wittering, and Bracklesham Bay as well many other surrounding villages.

East Wittering and the surrounding area

The Manhood Peninsula is positioned along the sunny South Coast at the mouth of Chichester Harbour and is a haven for sailors and holidaymakers alike. There's no shortage of things to do in the area which is especially well equipped for those who enjoy the outdoors, beaches, water sports and wildlife.

Historic East Wittering. There has been a settlement at East Wittering for over a thousand years although the area was largely developed after WWII and has grown in popularity ever since. In 1944 the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division used the local beaches as practice for the D-Day invasion, code named Operation 'Fabius'.

Property in East Wittering. Major developments in the 1960's and 1980's have created a good mix of houses in East Wittering with many character properties found at West Wittering. Many properties enjoy sea views across the English Channel and of the Solent towards the Isle of Wight.

Shopping. The East Wittering village acts as a focal point for the local area with a good range of shops including two mini supermarkets, two greengrocers, two family butchers, two Banks, two bakers and a fish monger. For a more extensive shopping experience head to the city of Chichester or Portsmouth Gun Wharf Quays shopping centre, both easily accessible by road.

Coastal Living. The Witterings are particularly well known for their sailing and water sports opportunities with many visitors coming especially to enjoy the surf. There are sailing clubs at West Wittering, Itchenor and Dell Quay, and moorings are also available at the Chichester Marina close to Birdham.

West Wittering & East Head Beach. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, West Wittering beach is a large and sandy beach located at the entrance to Chichester Harbour. East Head is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is owned by the National Trust. In recent times the West Wittering village has been voted amongst the top 10 coastal locations in the Sunday Times and they proudly hold a Blue Flag Award for cleanliness.

East Wittering. Is typical of many of the beaches along England's south coast, with its shelving shingle and wooden groynes and, as the tide goes out, expansive sand flats are revealed - the kind of sand that is perfect for building sand castles!

Bracklesham Bay. Bracklesham Bay is attached to the eastern side of East Wittering and within the same parish council. A sandy and shingle beach is popular for many surfers, divers, windsurfers, paddle boarders and fossil hunters as it's a well known fossil bed.

Travel Links. A regular bus service runs every 15 minutes through all three villages, providing easy access to Chichester where there is a more comprehensive range of city facilities. The nearest mainline train station is found at Chichester and provides links to London Victoria, Portsmouth and Brighton.

Schools in East Wittering. There is one primary school in East Wittering called East Wittering Community Primary School and another school in West Wittering called West Wittering Parochial C.E. School that serve the local children. For secondary and further education you need only travel a short distance into Chichester.
