Lisa Preston – Branch Manager
“Running an estate agency is hard work but exciting and every day brings fresh challenges, so it’s never a dull place to work. One of the best rewards when selling property is completion day when vendors and buyers receive the keys to their new home. I also love visiting people in their homes. You have to have a real passion for people and property to do this job well. I have a fantastic and knowledgeable team and we run a very busy, vibrant Sales Department here on Teesside. We’re all equally committed to helping you get the best possible price for your home or property. We also work closely with our Lettings team, local solicitors, mortgage advisors and surveyors, as we’re here to cater for all our customers’ needs, ensuring they receive convenient, all-under-one-roof customer service!"
Did you know? “A proud Teessider, Middlesbrough born and bred, one of my proudest moments was the day we first opened Hunters in June 2010. I remember listening to England play against Slovenia in the World Cup as I prepared the branch for its big opening. I knew our 1-0 win was a good sign!”
Ian Paterson - Director
“Having helped launch Hunters Teesside during the summer of 2010, I’ve seen it grow into arguably the best estate agents on Teesside. I’m lucky, I get to do the job that I love doing, helping people to sell property in the fantastic area of Acklam and Brookfield. I’ve been involved in the property industry since leaving school in 1988; and it hasn’t escaped my notice that that was a millennium ago. What that time has given me is the experience to know that selling property is so much more than a business transaction. We see people at the happiest times in their lives but we also meet them at their most testing times. I never forget that there’s a person and a story behind every house sale and every property purchase. I find that the my degree is History gives me a perspective about the property industry – markets come and go but houses remain a solid investment and, more importantly, a place to make a home. If you’re selling you’re Middlesbrough home, we’d love to chat about how we can help get the best possible price.”
Did you know? “I missed Chelsea’s infamous first goal against Boro 43 seconds into the 1997 FA Cup final because I was still wiping my eyes and blowing my nose after blubbing my way through ‘Abide with Me’. It didn’t get much better after that…”
Steve McDonald – Valuer
"Having worked as an estate agent across Teesside, I’ve been with Hunters for many years now. As a valuer, I’m absolutely committed to giving our customers the best service. My role is to showcase a property to its full potential to help achieve the highest price for your property in the shortest time possible. I spend most of my time on the road meeting customers face to face, which is what I like best. Hunters is a great place to work. I’m part of such a great team, which I believe is the secret behind our award-winning successes. Whether you’ve got a house for sale, property for rent or you’re maybe looking to buy to let then we’d love to hear from you.”
Did you know? “A Stockton lad and proud father of Lucy, I’m also passionate about all things Teesside, especially Stockton. I combine this with my passion for photography, shooting eye-catching images of local landmarks such as the Riverside Stadium, the Millennium Bridge and the iconic Transporter Bridge.”
David Badger – Valuer
“An adopted Teessider, having moved here 25 years ago, I live in Yarm and have worked in the property industry for more than 10 years – the last six with Hunters. My job is to act on the behalf of the vendor to list and sell their property at the best possible price. The interests of the customer are paramount to me and I promise to do my level best to ensure a top class service. I’m a bit of a workaholic, so nothing you ask of me will be too much trouble.”
Did you know? “When I’m not at work, I love a game of golf, along with cooking and going to the cinema. I also love to travel. In fact, the girls in the office often joke that if I’d make an excellent travel agent because I’m always advising people on the best holidays along with places to eat and visit. At Hunters, our commitment is to provide our customers with a professional service so please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions – about property or travel!”
Stacey Marie - Valuer
“Having worked in the property industry for more than 10 years, specialising in lettings for seven of those, I’m excited to now be turning my experience to the sales market. Rosie Marruci – Sales Negotiator
“I’ve worked for Hunters since moving to Middlesbrough from Southampton at the start of 2014. I’ve made it my mission to get to know Teesside, building a detailed knowledge of the area. My role is marrying up the best buyer with the best property on Teesside to achieve the best possible outcome for both parties. Customers regularly tell me that moving house is one of the most stressful things to go through, so I want to help relieve some of that stress and make the process as smooth as possible. I’m proud to be part of the fantastic team we have at Hunters.”

Working in the property industry is perfect for me, because I’m passionate about architecture and design. I’m working towards gaining an L3 Diploma in Professional Interior Design.”
Leah Gray - Sales Negotiator
“A member of the Hunters estate agents team for many years, my role is to obtain as many details about the properties we have for sale across Teesside and match it up with the people who are looking to buy. It’s a little bit like a dating website - we look to find the right buyer for the right house and marry the two together! Having worked in a sales environment all of my working life, I enjoy the buzz of making a sale and enjoy the joy and relief of buyers and vendors when sales are agreed.”
Did you know? “I was previously a full-time sales negotiator but returned to work on a part-time basis after the birth of my son. I now enjoy the work/life balance I have, spending quality time with my son and some adult time when I come to work.”
Laura Bashizadeh - Sales Negotiator and Accompanied Viewer
“Having joined Hunters in February 2016, I’ve already learned that no two days are the same. One day I may be in the office registering buyers and negotiating offers and the next I could be meeting and greeting people to show them around the homes we have for sale. As a people person, working with the public suits me down to the ground.”
Did you know? “Having a job that keeps me on my feet is something I’m used to as an ex-cabin crew member with Virgin Atlantic. One of my proudest moments was receiving my wings, graduating after completing an intensive six-week training course with the airline.”
Charlotte Melling – Sales Progressor
“A member of the Hunters team since 2014, I’m an experienced estate agent, though I took a slightly different role as a Sales Progressor when I joined Hunters Teesside. I love my hands on role, helping people move to and from their homes, providing guidance and expert advice to help make the selling and buying process as stress-free as possible. We’re all committed to providing a fantastic customer service level at Hunters – though I have to point out that I receive the most ‘thank you’ cards and chocolates – it’s just a shame I have to share them with the other staff!”
Did you know? “I love horse riding and wish I had more time for it, while the two proudest moments in my business life were achieving a Degree in Business and winning the Hunters Employee of the Half Year award ahead of staff across our national network of 177 branches.”
Jordan Clayton – Head of Student Lettings Department
“A property lettings and sales apprentice when I joined Hunters Teesside six years ago, I’ve since climbed my way up the ladder and now manage the student lettings department. I love every minute of it! It’s a tough, fast-paced job but there are great rewards when I help to marry up Teesside University students with the perfect place for their hectic lives. No two days are the same.

"Please may I take this opportunity to thank the staff at Hunters, Middlesbrough during the recent sale of our property.
We had a bit of a rocky ride during the sale of our house which I'm told is common nowadays but David, Lisa, Holly and Ian were fantastic. They made the hiccups we encountered far less stressful during the sale of our house. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they remained professional at all times. They were also very understanding and had our best interests at heart. They put a lot of time and effort into their work and always made sure we were happy not pressured.
We cannot praise the team enough. Thank you to them all once again."
