    Ashby-de-la-Zouch is a small market town in the corner of North West Leicestershire bordering onto the four counties of Leicestershire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Warwickshire. The Norman French name dates from the years after the Norman conquest of England when the town became a possession of the' La Zouch' family during the reign of Henry III.

    Ashby nowadays occupies a most strategic location within the heart of the Midlands lying on the doorstep of the M42 which links perfectly with many East and West Midlands conurbations and is within half an hours' drive of major cities at Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham with the renowned market towns of Burton Upon Trent, Tamworth and Loughborough all close by. There are excellent rail links from both Tamworth and East Midlands Parkway as well as airports nearby at both Birmingham International and East Midlands.

    The regeneration of the former North West Leicestershire coal field has seen the growth of the scenic National Forest which spans a wide area of 200 square miles with over 8 million trees planted.

    Ashby is a vibrant town with an eclectic mix of homes from Elizabethan and Georgian fronted town houses and shops to traditional Victorian and Edwardian homes and many new estates on the fringe of the town centre. There are excellent local state and private schools within the area notably Manor House School, Grace Dieu, Twycross and Repton Public School.

    Being at the hub of the motorway network Ashby is also a strategic location for industry with industrial parks springing up with technology companies and long established national companies such as McVities having a national distribution base.
