    Parkers in Tilehurst is an independently owned franchise, serving the Tilehurst, Calcot, Southcote, Purley, Pangbourne and Theale areas, meaning we boast one of the largest coverages of estate and letting agents in the area. Our focus is around Residential Sales and Private lettings.

    Situated on a corner plot in the heart of Tilehurst village, we are in a prime location to take advantage of local footfall, and also provide a car park to further enable access to the office.

    Tilehurst and the surrounding area is a diverse and exciting place to live. With local schools excelling in Ofsted reports, robust transport links to Reading town centre, the National Rail network, & the M4 motorway, and a vast array of shops, cafés & leisure venues, the area exudes all the charm of a village, whilst providing all the amenities of a town.

    The area also boasts real diversity in terms of the properties available. Our portfolio consists of anything from 1 bedroom studio flats, through to large 4 & 5 bedroom detached houses. This means we attract a wide range of tenants, from those looking for their first home, to those looking for larger properties or perhaps looking to downsize. Because all of our staff live locally, we are also able to cater for individuals moving as a result of company relocation or people moving here from out of the area or even overseas, providing advice and guidance as to which area or property will best suit their needs.

    We launched our lettings arm in 2007 and have already built a sizable portfolio. We pride ourselves on being able to tailor a solution to meet the individual needs of our landlords, and will be as hands on as you would like us to be.

    All of our properties are marketed proactively via a number of channels. We use full colour in all of our marketing, and provide detailed floor-plans and a range of images to cast your property in its best light. We are able to provide a range of hard copy and electronic brochures, and as well as advertising in local property publications, we continue to lead the way in embracing cutting edge technology via our own website, as well as well known online property portals including Rightmove. We have also launched our own online property magazine showcasing the latest properties available, as well as providing insight to the market and current conditions.

    We are members of both the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) as well as the Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA), the related ombudsman for the industry and operate in association with the guidelines of the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

    Property Appraisal

    The first step is to meet with a representative from our Lettings Department. We will be able to make recommendations that will maximise the letting potential of your property and advise on a realistic rental value. This service is provided free of charge and without obligation.

    When we receive your instructions we will visit the property to take internal and external photographs. We'll also discuss your tenants requirements, so that we can match the search criteria with those we have on our database.

    Our multiple office network gives us a real advantage, as we are able to access a large number of potential tenants. Whether it is through existing contacts or from advertising enquiries we will aim to find just the right tenant to suit your property.

    In order to protect your investment and show the property to its best advantage, all potential tenants will be accompanied during viewings by a Parkers member of staff who will be familiar with the property and able to deal with enquiries.

    When a tenant has been found references are taken up by an independent referencing agency. References are used to provide verification of the information provided by the tenants. They will check that each tenant is creditworthy by checking for CCJ's and arrears as well as obtaining employer and landlord references.

    Once references have been received we will contact you to confirm the result and moving in date.

    Parkers provide a FIRST CLASS MANAGEMENT SERVICE to protect and maintain a property to the standard it was at the beginning of the tenancy, including 4 quarterly inspections but taking into account fair wear and tear. We offer a FREE rent guarantee and include arranging all maitenance and running repairs, except any items that are a tenants responsibility.

    The housing Act 2004 made provision for both the protection of tenancy deposits and the resolution of disputes over their return. Legislation came into effect on 6 April 2007. After this date all deposits taken for new Assured Shorthold Tenancies have to be covered by a tenancy deposit protection scheme. 

    For your peace of mind Parkers are members of the TDS (The Dispute Service) an independent company established in 2003 to resolve complaints and disputes arising in the private rented sector speedily, cost-effectively and fairly.

Using Homelet, who are an independent referencing company and  governed by the FSA, as well as the UK's largest supplier of referencing and specialist insurance to the lettings industry offering products specifically designed fo both landlords and tenants alike. 

    For your peace of mind Homelet will check the status of a tenants emploment history, credit worthiness, bank reference and previous addresses.

    Steve joined us in 2010 with over 9 years of experience in the industry locally, and is responsible for taking the lettings side of the business to the next level. Steve has demonstrated his drive and enthusiasm, winning over a number of prospective landlords with his friendly manner and confident approach.

    Steves competitive nature is an asset, and is evidenced further outside of the office, as he is a keen golfer and a qualified 10 pin bowling instructor. He is also a happily married father of son Freddie.

    Jayne Mitchell

    Accounts Manager


    Jayne joined Parkers in 2007, and plays a key part in ensuring that our lettings business runs smoothly. Predominantly focussed on satisfying our growing portfolio of existing Landlords and Tenants, Jayne is responsible for all aspects of service and property management for the duration of the let, and uses her fantastic attention to detail to ensure that all tenants are referenced and registered quickly and accurately. She has an in-depth knowledge of the lettings business, and is on hand to offer advice and guidance whenever it is needed.

    Jayne is a valuable member of the Parkers team, and has a friendly but direct approach which enables her to have a thorough understanding of our customers needs, to ultimately guarantee our lettings customers are 100% satisfied with our service at all times.

    Jayne lives locally with her husband and their three children, so has an excellent knowledge of Tilehurst and the surrounding area.

    Georgia Crewe

    Lettings Negotiator

    Georgia is the latest addition to our expanding lettings team in Tilehurst. Having come from a customer facing background, Georgia has demonstrated to many of our landlords and tenants from day one, her efficient and very helpful nature.

    Georgia has integrated well into our existing lettings team, proving excellent admin support for our busy accounts and maintenance departments, as well as being on hand to show our many prospective tenants around our wide range of properties.

    In her spare time Georgia is very enthusiastic about fashion and enjoys nothing more than a Saturday afternoon perusing the shops. Georgia loves her music and when you visit our office I'm sure you'll hear her singing along to one of her favourite bands, who needs a radio!!!

    Lisa Aikman

    Maintenance Co Ordinator

    Lisa joined us in 2012 to assist with our growing lettings portfolio and maintain our high level of customer service. Lisa's current role is predominantly office based as the primary contact for all maintenance issues and she understands the need to prioritise and maintain contact with all parties to ensure matters are dealt with promptly and to everyone's satisfaction.

    Lisa carries out regular property inspections ensuring all properties are kept clean and to the agreed standards set within their contracts. She is equally at home selling the virtues of a property to buy or rent and getting to know an applicant's needs and as a measure of her overwhelming enthusiasm for all things property.

    Having previously worked as a travel counsellor, Lisa is a keen traveller and likes nothing better than kicking back with a book whilst relaxing in the sun. Lisa enjoys music, in particular 80's sounds and regularly attends various festivals around the country.

    Tilehurst


    Tilehurst is a lively and energetic suburb, close to Reading town centre, boasting a host of amenities. Once a village thriving on the production of pottery and tiles, the central area of Tilehurst is home to a multitude of conveniences including shops, florists, banks, a post office, public houses and hairdressers as well as the popular Village Butchers and the hardware store. This is still referred to by locals as the village today.
    There are a many local primary and secondary schools to choose from, all rated highly by Ofsted.
    For the sporting amongst you there are a number of leisure centres locally, and Reading Town Football Club is close by, as is access to the Rivers Thames and Kennet for fishing and recreation.     Situated to the south of Tilehurst, separated by the A4 bath road which leads into Reading, Calcot is slightly quieter than its neighbour Tilehurst, although is still able to boast a comprehensive set of amenities, including an infant and junior school with plenty of secondary schools close by, and retail park upon which Sainsburys, Next, Boots, Sports Direct and Dunelm Mill can all be found. There are also plans to develop the site further to accommodate the popular IKEA home stores.
