    Founded in 2006 Property Street is an independent Estate and Letting Agents. Our offices in Chelmsford, Colchester and Harlow allow us to offer our services throughout Essex.

    We are a family run business, not tied to a national chain, and as such our dedicated staff will work closely with you and provide a more personal approach, offering you the very highest standard of service and ensuring you have all the advice and support you need.

    All members of the Property Street Team are fully trained and hold the necessary qualifications to call ourselves experts in our field, and we are members of the Property Ombudsman for that added protection.

    We care passionately about letting property, and our property managers are highly skilled and trained in all aspects of property management, and customer service.

    We have a substantial list of quality tenants, who are just waiting for the right property to move into, and we receive dozens on enquiries every single day from new tenants wishing to register with us.

    If we do not match a tenant up immediately from our database we will advertise your property on all the major websites, such as Rightmove, Zoopla, Primelocation and Findaproperty, which will generate instant new enquiries.

    Our range of services can be tailored to meet your requirements meaning you can relax in the knowledge that you are being provided a professional level of service that ONLY landlords would come to expect.

    Our "Find a Tenant" and "Property Management" services are the most comprehensive package on the market today, and offer the complete service for landlords which include the following benefits as standard:

    Guaranteed Rent Protection

    In today's economic climate it's never been more important to make sure your rental income is safe.

    Even the best tenants can fall on hard times but with us you can relax in the knowledge that if something unexpected happens, your rent will be guaranteed.

    We will include as standard a policy that will ensure that your rental money will be paid to you even if your tenants default on their rent.

    The policy will be for 6 or 12 months depending on the length of tenancy.

    We will also include legal cover should the unthinkable happen, and we have to take your tenants to court to recover the costs.


    Professional Inventory

    An Inventory report is an accurate and detailed description of all the fixtures, fittings and contents of a property.

    Without this document a landlord may have no legal entitlement in the event of a dispute to make deductions from a tenants deposit at the end of the tenancy.

    Following the introduction of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme in April 2007, when Part 6 of the Housing Act 2004 finally came into effect, this became even more important.

    An inventory is there to protect you and your property and should be completed by a professional company who can help you avoid any disputes if any problems arise.


    3 Monthly Inspection Visits

    To ensure your property is being looked after in the correct manner we will inspect your property every 3 months, and provide you with a report on our findings.

    On our visits we are checking that the tenants are keeping the property in the same condition that it was left in, and making comments where necessary, if action needs to be taken.

    This high level of checks will ensure your property is monitored and maintained every three months.

    From experience we know that other agents do not visit their properties with our regularity


    Energy Performance Certificates

    You are now only required to supply an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to legally market your property.

    We have our own in house Energy Assessors who can compile this report for you, if required, and free of charge.

    We recognise that it is reliable tenants who are at the heart of any successful letting business. Property Street and our landlords depend on tenants who pay their rent on time and take care of the property they have rented. So we value your custom, and it is important that as tenants with Property Street you enjoy the experience of renting a home with us.

    Please contact us to join our property mailing list and we can keep you updated on our latest properties. Should you wish to proceed with an application our simple terms and conditions are set out below:

    • A professional inventory will be prepard on every property before move in.
    • All application fees are non refundable should you fail your referencing report, or decide to withdraw from the application by choice.
    • All tenants will undergo comprehensive reference checks with our preferred credit agency.
    • We do except DSS, but it depends on the landlords, and only certain properties will be available to the DSS market, We will clearly advertise this on our website.
    • Before anyone can move into one of our properties, they must have passed referencing, paid rent and deposits, and administration fees. There will be no exceptions to these rules.

    James was bought up in Essex and started his career running multiple high street branches for a large corporate business across the South East. During this time he met Stephen and they worked together for a number of years managing 150 staff across 30 offices.

    After forming an excellent working partnership, they decided to set up Property Street in 2006. Their aim was to offer the very best service to their clients and work tirelessly to provide an exemplary service.

    James holds numerous qualifications in the industry including the NAEA Technical award in the Sale of Residential Property and CII Awards.

    He is a family man and in his spare time likes nothing more than spending time with his 3 young children.

    Stephen, Managing Director
    Stephen was born and raised in Essex, and lived in Chelmsford for 10 years. 

    Stephen like James started at a large multi national company, and by the time he left managed 150 staff across 30 offices. 

    After forming an excellent working partnership, they decided to set up Property Street in 2006. 
    Their aim was to offer the very best service to their clients and work tirelessly to provide an exemplary service. 

    Stephen holds numerous qualifications in the industry including the NAEA Technical award in the Sale of Residential Property and CII Awards. In his spare time he likes nothing more than spending time with his wife and 2 young boys.

    Having joined us in 2014 as a Sales/Lettings Negotiator, Jake soon became a valuable member of the Property Street team.

    Jake is highly conscientious and always determined to offer the best customer service as possible. He is personally involved in all of our Chelmsford sales, and works hard to ensure all sales lead to swift completion.
